Why is it that you all think petz 5 was made for kids? :/ So is petz 1 - 4? I'm not backing it up or anything, it's just..

This is exactly why I don't like these threads..Almost everyone bites at each others throats in the end.
All the games were made for kids, regardless of what age group really made them. They put the possibility of having the dogz or catz run over your work files to also appeal to adults, but the main age group they wanted were kids.
And on a side note, I have seen P5 bred petz sell for over 10pc, and P4 ones as well. Just because you haven't seen it, doesn't mean it hasn't happened.
And if everyone continues to pick at each other and just argue..I'm going to lock this. It's supposed to be friendly, which it did start out as, but now it's turning in the other direction. There doesn't need to be a "vs" anyways. People can enjoy whichever game they want, without the need for arguing why one is better. We're all different, we all have different tastes.

^ Wth? Nobdy is arguing...we're debating. We can state our opinions without being nasty, like we already were. Just because people have conflicting opinions doesn't mean they're bickering! <3
Also; if it's a kids game, why are half the people who play it in their 20s-30s? ;p Isn't KC on pcg like, 28?

^ But petz was released in the 90s! That would make KC a young teen when it was released!

^ Bubblewrap's hit the nail on the head... I've already pointed out that most of the older people who play the games, most likely got them at a much younger age, thus meaning they're familiar with them, & already hooked, when they're older.
Idk, I think the first ones (Catz & Dogz I) were aimed at everybody... then it just got more and more childish as the game progressed. And why not? If they're aimed for kids, and kids sell the most games, why not adapt your game to fit that audience?
There's a simple to solution to games you don't like, or you find too childish... Don't play them! That way there's no complaining. xDDD

I was being very, very generalised with my post, and some people obviously won't conform to my theory. It's the same with everything.

I think P1 was focussed on adults, since back then PCs weren't really for kids yet. Too precious, too expensive, etc. Although I got my brother to install it for me Most of the "from the begin" players are 25-30+ now. If we are talking about 'elderly' people playing, Minibyte is with all do respect I believe the eldest person I know playing. I believe she's a grandmother herself? Could be wrong, but I know she's a lot older then the 'avarage' player for sure. To me, Petz is a fun-way to pass time, to have a great time. Perhaps I'll still play it when one day I have children, ahaha.

Honestly, I voted petz 5 because I have never played petz 4.

Carolyn Horn is an older lady too! I believe she's in her sixties, though I could be wrong. And Relo is an adult. And Minibyte as Yvonne said. ;p They wouldn't have been teens 0r kids when petz was released.
lol. I guess I don't lke being thought of as childish, because petz is a fun little hobby for me and i will never outgrow it n__n

Yeah, I started playing when I was 12. I'm 23 now, and I've probably only taken "breaks" spanning 2 years or so, intermittently. I was so enthralled with the game as a kid that I think I keep chasing that same feeling. I'm probably never going to be as "into" it as when I was a youngin'... it's more about the community now. I enjoy conversing with birds of a feather. I still play, of course-but it's more exciting for me to enjoy the creativity of the P.C, express my own creativity through hexing or making websites, etc. I'm trying to get my own niece (who is almost 9) into the game. That's another exciting aspect, watching new people come into the community and discover everything. I live vicariously through newbies. lol. Anyway, ramble ramble... point being-had I not gotten into the game as a child, I probably wouldn't have gotten into it as an adult. Just me, personally. This whole post is a bit off-thread topic, but... so were all the posts on the last page. lol. Oh wells.

^ I think people have different reasons for playing petz as well. That could affect thier game choice.
I'm more of a hexer/breeder & collector (if I'm honest) and don't really show or take my petz on walks like I used to. I do still train them and dress them up though. lol.
I think someone who actually wants to PLAY play the game, i.e. washing their petz, making them get married, making them win prizes etc on the mini games would prefer P5.

I have them both, but on different computers. I see them as the same. ;/ Overall I prefer Babyz, though.
