I was just wondering how other people deal with all their petz. How many do you have? How do you feed them? With my breeding projects the numbers can go up very quickly, I usually return any I don't want and make backup files of the ones I want to keep but I don't know if that's the best way.

I don't have all of mine in my game at once. I rotate them in and out, I have several PetzA profiles that I use, and make liberal use of the PetzA sliders to keep them happy and healthy lol. In any given profile I usually have between 15-50 petz. Any more than that gets a little overwhelming to me.

Currently I have like... over 100 petz roughly, maybe around 150? But a lot of them I still need to actually take pictures of for my crew page which I've been trying to rework. I keep my petz stored in a folder within my main Adopted Petz profile, and then take out whoever I want to use at that particular time. Eg. if I want to use a pet in a specific event/activity, I'll take out whoever I feel like using for it (or a pet that I feel would work for it) into the main Adopted Petz folder. I regularly make backups of my petz when I play with them in case the game corrupts their files, or something else happens.
I also raise any puppies/kittens I have, whether from my own petz breeding or if I adopted a pet as a puppy/kitten. So sometimes when I start the game for the day (it depends how much time I have or if I feel like playing that day) I will make sure I have those petz in the adopted folder first, so they age up properly. I keep about six at a time to age up, and rotate them out once they have reached 100.
When I raise/play with petz I usually feed them normally; I keep a few different flavours of food in the Playpen (which is where I hang out most of the time since I can make it the size of my monitor, and the food bowls don't bounce) so my petz have different options to choose from if any of them are picky eaters. I don't normally use PetzA to feed them, but I do use it to get rid of sickness/fleas, because I find they spawn with it too often, and it's kind of annoying and takes too long to get rid of sickness with the medicine lol. (I'm too impatient)
I've never really used the "return" feature in Petz. If I'm PetzA breeding anything I just delete the rejects right off the hard disk. But I use the Petz Pic Factory thing to generate images of them so I know which ones are the rejects to delete. And I'm weird, I think, because when I do use PetzA to breed, I always only use temporary copies of my petz and delete those copies when I'm done. It probably doesn't matter, but I get worried it will somehow affect my petz so it's like I'm making genetic clones of them to breed instead lol.

I don't have all my petz in the game at the same time. I have a folder/folders where I place them all when not playing with them and rotate them in and out of my Adopted Petz folder. Petz outside that folder don't get their needs changed or their neglect increased, so this works fine. Since I have relatively few petz at a time in my game, taking care of each one is easier. If I'm busy, I'll just use PetzA to make sure they're healthy, well-fed, etc. With breeding projects, I delete any petz I don't want or adopt them out. I never use "return" -- it's more time consuming, plus I think that keeps a copy of that pet in a folder so it takes up space on your disk.

lobb It does make a returned petz folder, and petz can be moved from there, back into your game. I have a massive amount of petz (Last count was over 500, from 20+ years of play)... I keep petz divided into groups of 12. Then copy and paste into the adoptions folder whomever I want to play with. This adds an added layer of back up copies in case of corrupted files, or a stuck pregnancy.

Folders, lots and lots of folders... and CD backups. I never have more than a few in game at one time, I get overwhelmed. I rotate, same as commander.

I only ever play with a handful at a time. I keep backups of everyone in folders (divided by cats, dogs and wilds for any other animal species converted to pets), grab whoever I want to use and pop em in to the adopted pets folder, and once I'm done I will copy the files back to the inactive section. I don't tend to use PetzA except for breeding, and I'm currently de-aging my favourite fully grown animals (whether I skipped their baby stage or they came to me that way) and raising them naturally c:

I don't, I only have 20-30 petz at a time and naturally raise and care for them all. When they get between 10 and 14 real months, they die (rolled by random generator) and then new puppers can come in.

I have Petz 3, Petz 4, and Petz 5 all installed at the same time, and I separate my petz into the different programs. For example, I might be doing a breeding project in Petz 3, naturally raising bred favorites in Petz 4, and playing mini-games in Petz 5 with petz who are hexed or bred with Petz 5-specific breeds. I also have folders for different categories that I'm not currently doing anything with.
