Hello hello, here to share my first Dogz 5 breeding project!
The dog I'm aiming to achieve is the Shollie - a mix of german shepherd and rough collie. It's not a breed, just a mix I've seen pop up every so often and have always considered very pretty.
This is basically a copy-paste of a message in my intro post, but I guess I couldn't phrase it better:
I'm using the default petz 5 gsd and the Abnormality rough collie v1 breedfile because it has a normal tail. (Acquired from here: petzkennelclub.co.uk/breeds/index.php/topic,1074.0.html ) I'm looking for: - A gsd body (may be slightly longer or more fluffy), legs and head,
- Pointy ears are a MUST,
- Possibly a thick collie tail, for extra sass,
- Sable collie markings, at this time only sand and chocolate or sand and black. With or without white head markings, but definitely with irish spotting,
- Gsd personality, with a heavy emphasis on liveliness, intelligence and acrobaticness on the higher side. Oh, and confidence higher than 50, preferably 100.
I decided not to use cheats for the sake of challenge and attachment to the dogz I take care of. So yes, I have to go through every single pair and feed+exercise them so they don't run away, I can't gender swap or retroactively edit pups. I have brought that upon myself. GenePoolz and GoalDescriptorAnalyzer (for checking personality values) are the only external tools I use. Other than that, storing some .pet files in a folder when everything becomes too overwhelming is fine too.
These are the first four pairs! (Yes, there's a red collie in there, but that's a Whole Thing - the gsd was good and didn't get along with anyone except her. And she's super smart.)
All of the pairs have already been bred, the pups are due 9th and 10th. I'm already preparing the second Adoption Center 8-dog batch.

Looking forward to seeing how this goes! I think a collie tail would look great on them if you can get it.
You may run into some breeding issues with the original GSD file (and possibly because of the collie too if it also has angled legs?). Usually it's hind leg weirdness. You should be able to select away from it if it bothers you. The Kizmet version may work best for mixing with other breeds/shapes, though I haven't tried it personally (I use the Rosestone file for my GSDs).

I did two test breedings, one gsd x ck border collie and the other gsd x sheepdog and the legs are fine, I think at least...

Aww cute pups! Yeah they look okay to me - sometimes it can be hard to tell when they're that young, there's sometimes a more minor issue where the feet are further forward than the hocks, but you didn't get any of the really weird extended leg problems so hopefully that means these files are all quite compatible! The GSD mixies look really cute with the CK Border Collie ears, too! I never thought about mixing them before.

Can't pick a favorite, both are cute in different ways :'-(

I love this project idea. I haven't seen anyone doing anything with the abno v1 in a long time. If you're looking for votes I vote the cream pup with the white muzzle but both are adorable!

Hi again!
So uhhh, apparently the first two litters dropped faster than I expected.
Apparently the brown base coat color is hard to inherit, at least my first two sets of pups think so. I wonder if I could breed two black base coats together and get a brown, because the two puppies I so far like most both have black coats. The brown coat will still be in set 2, soooo
BUT
Most have white markings, many have pointy ears and collie tails, and gsd legs seem to be pretty common. Which is the right direction imho.
So, here's the pictures. I only have a screenshot of one birth certificate because of course I had to impulsively click away...
The first one is a girl and has a gsd head, so her it is. The gender ratio is killing me, but it's not so bad that I have to breed again.
Here's a better picture of Terra's litter (the one on the right). Obviously my favorite is the boy with white markings and pointy ears.

Thanks a lot! I always loved shollies irl, so give me a game with an in-depth genetics system and i'm gonna make some And I like this file because it's Petzy looking.
I'm likely going to keep both because the masked pup is better at frisbee.

On second thought, I kind of like the idea of both chocolate and black base coats being acceptable for shollies. Real life sable dogs can be black or liver, so I wouldn't mind that happening here.
Besides, chocolate is recessive, so breeding only for that would mean sacrificing other more important variables.

I love that first pup in the second litter, the girl your're keeping. She's super cute. And the second in that litter is super cute too!
THe gender ratio! I feel your frustration. I'm not sure if it's more of a P5 thing or if I just have better luck in P4 but when I was breeding my pits in P5 it took me so long to get a male.

Guess what guys,
Next two litters are here! And one of the favorites has a chocolate base coat!!!
So turns out the red in the red collie is also a base coat and not an overlay a'la a gsd's sand markings. I probably shouldn't have assumed otherwise. But oh well, one red dog on such a scale shouldn't be a problem.
Will be keeping the last girl in the first litter because she has a thinner gsd body (it may be hard to notice through her chonky legs) and the last boy in the second because he has a gsd head and pointy ears, a collie tail and all the necessary markings, albeit a bit wonky.
The moms got angry at me for petting and picking up the pups for the photos XD

Update: first two litters have opened their eyes.
What I thought were glitched legs were actually just normal gsd legs. What a relief.
And for a treat:
