The Steam Winter sale has started! Below are a few casual multiplayer and/or co-op games I may buy on sale right now if others get them too, so maybe we can play them together? (I only own the minigolf game off this list so far.) I also gave a link to games currently cheaper on Fanatical (Steam keys).
I have a tight budget, and so many games I want... not just these, other non-multiplayer games too, haha -- SO MANY! I have to think carefully about which I will end up getting. Let's talk about them and consider which seem the most worthy!
Tabletop Simulator One purchase, unlimited free board games!! Can't go wrong with this one! It's a very casual minigolf game, perfect to spend some time with friends. We can also make our own courses, or download some from Steam Workshop, which is a nice extra bonus.

Personally I intend to pick up Escape Simulator! Looks really good and they’ve been adding new stuff for free it seems. My mom and I played (the single player) The Room games (couch co-op style) and these are similar-ish.
Moving Out looks really fun and I’d love to play that multiplayer sometime! If I get a steam gift card maybe I’ll pick it up since it’s pretty cheap. Out of Space looks good too.
Is Dorfromantik multiplayer/co-op? I own that one but I don’t think there is a way to play it with people.

Yeah, I really want it, but I find it still a bit expensive (because it's new), with only 20% off. But I might still pick it up, especially since it has a level editor and free Workshop content. This is a game you'll only be playing with your mom though, right? I see that Moving Out is at its cheapest right now, with a big 75% discount, so I'll probably get it if you do -- let me know. However, I see that Out Of Space has been cheaper several times before (50%, 66% and 75% off), so I definitely won't be picking it up this time. Oh! You're right! I don't know why I thought it was co-op for some reason! I removed it from the list. Did you play it at all? Is it fun? Or best to wait until it's out of Early Access? (I usually don't buy Early Access games).

Ooo, I had no idea Wingspan had a Steam version! I've read about the board game but I don't know anyone who'd play it with me lol. I'm probably going to buy the Steam game and gift my brother one for Christmas and hope I can convince him to play it xD

Yes, there is a free TTS mod for it in the Workshop, and also a pay DLC for it (but not very well rated). The version I posted here is the standalone game, which is quite beautiful, and also has an AI that can be played with if human players are lacking.

Thank you! Yeah, the tabletop sim is on my wishlist now for later because it definitely looks fun! I’m going to get the Wingspan game with the AI opponent though, just in case my brother doesn’t have time to play right away, then I can just practice against the computer.

This is a game you'll only be playing with your mom though, right? I was thinking the same. I try to wait for 50% off or more, though I am glad this one isn't too expensive to begin with! Unfortunately the other games I want too are either new and not on sale or new and barely on sale (Unpacking, The Forgotten City, etc.). I think for $11 though this one has a really good amount of content! It is one I'd like to play (at least partially) with my mom, since we tend to do puzzle/escape room games together. If we like them we'll probably play the official levels, but I would definitely be interested in trying out the player created levels with others! I see that Moving Out is at its cheapest right now, with a big 75% discount, so I'll probably get it if you do -- let me know. However, I see that Out Of Space has been cheaper several times before (50%, 66% and 75% off), so I definitely won't be picking it up this time. I will let you know if I get it! I will probably wait until Christmas to decide what I get. I'm always surprised when games aren't at their cheapest prices during the summer and winter sales. There's another game I was looking at that I think was about $3 once but is about $7 or $8 currently. Oh! You're right! I don't know why I thought it was co-op for some reason! I removed it from the list. Did you play it at all? Is it fun? Or best to wait until it's out of Early Access? (I usually don't buy Early Access games). I have played it a bit! I think it's fun. It's pretty and relatively relaxing (there's no time limit or anything, but there are goals and things to unlock so there is some strategy). Honestly I am not that great at it lol, my towns never seem to look like the ones from the trailers. My uncle has a similar game (Islanders, I believe) and we were talking about the 2 games and I remember we had the same criticism. I of course can't remember what it was though.
While I have not unlocked much, I think it's a good game for being in early access. Maybe not perfect but a nice strategic town building game. I think it's a solid game to get now, while it's in early access. However I feel like early access games tend to not go on sale that much and they get cheaper once fully released (or maybe not, I am basing this off watching Satisfactory's prices). So it may be worth waiting to see if there is a better sale if this one isn't at the top of your wishlist!
EDIT: It Takes Two is 50% off which is pretty good. If one person owns it, the other just needs to download Friend Pass (for free) to play with them
I'd love to play this with someone. I've heard it's long but it has amazing reviews! (I don't own it currently but I love that both players don't need to purchase it).

^ I'm too lazy to "superquote"! I'm always surprised when games aren't at their cheapest prices during the summer and winter sales. There's another game I was looking at that I think was about $3 once but is about $7 or $8 currently. ^ Yeah, me too! It used to be that way, where they had flash sales with games being super-cheap for one day or such, before they started giving refunds for any reason (which includes giving refunds to people who find a game cheaper the next day.) After they started offering refunds, all pricing was fixed for the entire duration of the big sales (I assume so that people would not go crazy asking for refunds when a game became way cheaper the next day), and I also assume developers don't like their games to be super-cheap for such a long time. So the discounts became smaller during lengthy sales. At least that's my sad theory About Escape Simulator: I think I'll have to hold off buying it for now, unless someone else is buying it too and might want to play it with me. Please, anyone, let me know! About Moving Out: I just found out that this game actually does NOT have online co-op!! Only split-screen/local co-op! That's unbelievable! Because it has local co-op though, it could be played using Remote Play Together, but that Steam feature is not always super-reliable. About Dorfromantik: Thanks for explaining the game a bit. It sounds weird. I think I won't get this one for now and wait until it gets cheaper. About It Takes Too: nice to know there's a Friends Pass available! But that game, even at 50% off, is too expensive for me, especially since it's not really replayable.

I'm really excited about this! I really want to play some of these but none of my irl friends play games, so it would be awesome to have people to play with. I'm going to take a closer look at these. I'm really curious about Escape Simulator, Witch It, and Wingspan. I'm sad that Moving Out doesn't have a reliable online co-op.
By the way, there's this game called KeyWe that seems really cute and fun, I don't know if people would be interested in it as well!

I'm really curious about Escape Simulator, Witch It, and Wingspan. lobb If you like board games, you could get Tabletop Similator (currently on sale at 50% off) and join me and Rebecca, and sometimes Thor in our games? We play all kinds of easy/casual board games! (all free mods I get on TTS). Rebecca and I are US Eastern time and usually play late evening, but I could also play at other times, especially in the winter, depending. store.steampowered.com/app/286160/Tabletop_Simulator/And if you do get Escape Simulator, I will probably get it too. We could play it together, assuming our time zones are compatible? I was just reading some reviews of the standalone Wingspan version, and it seems some people are complaining of difficulties connecting with friends to play online. I'll have to read a little bit more into that before commiting to this one, cause I'm not sure if the devs fixed whatever issues there were. Other people are complaining about the user interface being unintuitive (which was my #1 complaint when I beta tested that game). I had never heard about it, but just took a quick glance, and it looks really nice!! I'm going to watch the vids and read reviews to learn more about it! A little expensive for me at this time, but will go on my Wishlist!

Ratqueen Thanks for replying! I'll probably only be able to get one of those games I've been looking at Escape Simulator and I think it might be a good idea to wait a bit before getting it. Tabletop Simulator looks really fun, I took a peek at the workshop and there are so many interesting-looking mods... including Wingspan! So for online play, that might be easier than the "regular" Wingspan. I don't know 100% if I can afford it now but I hope so! I'm usually online in the afternoon/evening (Europe), so time zones would definitely be the biggest obstacle, but there are days like today when I'm online a bit later than that. Maybe between that and days when everyone else might be online earlier, it could be doable. *scratches chin* Yeah, KeyWe is definitely a bit expensive for me, especially without many people to play it, but maybe we can get in on some other sale and play together

^ lobb, yeah, me too, I want AALLLL the games, but have a tight budget, haha. TTS is a good investment, getting tons of games with one purchase, but you must have humans players to play with, as there's no AI. For the timing, that could be arranged in the winter, as I'm usually at my computer in the afternoon. I sometimes play TTS with my sister who lives in Switzerland (that's where I'm originally from). What time zone are you in?
