He's in the ancestry of many of my tams, especially the ones originally bred in P5, so it was about time I finally show him off to the world. I love his scruffiness and his fun personality. He was actually not part of my show team for very long since he skyrocketed his way to supreme grand champion with mostly BIS and 1st placements. I remember seeing "The Lord of Misrule" somewhere and instantly writing it down because I thought it would make a cool show name but I'd forget if I didn't write it down. Nautica Bred by me Nautica is another leftover from my breeding service, and she's another one that when she was passed over by the requester, I immediately held her back for myself--didn't even have to think twice about it lol. She's so fuzzy and small and compact and I love it! I started showing her at the same time I started showing Orinoco, and the song Orinoco Flow gave me quite a few options for show names, so I used one of them on Nautica, because why not? lol SGCh PH's A Little Bit Odd
Ned Adopted by me Ned is one of the muttlies I adopted while I was studying abroad in Argentina, since I didn't have anything better to do between my classes lol. Fun fact if you don't already know this--he invented dynamite, and when his brother died, newspapers mistakenly thought Alfred died, and due to dynamite's infamy, declared "the merchant of death is dead". Upon getting a glimpse on how he would be remembered after his death, Nobel put all the rest of his life into philanthropic work. The dog Nobel is also not the merchant of death. Notebook Bred by Amanda at Cargo I think I got Notebook in a grabbag, and I think I already had a poodle who looked very similar to him... but I have such a weakness for poodles like this, so I just had to keep him anyway. She has an alley personality and can be pretty mean sometimes, but I still love her. I didn't yet have a dusty one, so Nyst was exactly what I was going for, especially with her green eyes and two-toned ears! She also did well enough in shows to get 40 points and a title of master supreme grand champion, lol. Her show name is the name of a piece for flute choir my husband composed. I think he played it for me and asked me to name it, which he really shouldn't do because I'm bad at coming up with titles (exhibit A: most of these show names). |

O    SGCh PH's Eight Sides, Eight AnglesOctagon Bred by meI bred Octagon from scratch years ago when I did a little sheepdog breeding project. He's fairly low-gen so he might not breed great, but dang is he pretty! And he did very well in shows! He really loves dress-up.
   SGCh PH's Oedipus RexOedipus Bred by meI don't know why, but years and years and YEARS ago I got this pic of Oedipus, just one of my many purebred poodles, and used it to enter into poodle shows/dog shows that accepted poodle poses on the very rare occasions I came across one. It took a very long while, but now that poodle shows have finally sort of taken off, Oedipus FINALLY reached supreme grand champion, my very first poodle to do so! I was so happy lol. Oedipus is a very neat and tidy dog, he takes his success very seriously lol

I think I named him after the character in US Acres, which is a comic strip from Garfield creator Jim Davis and also appeared as the middle segment in the TV show Garfield and Friends. I remember I didn't like the US Acres sections much as a kid, but when I was in college and bought the DVD sets, I actually almost enjoyed them more than the Garfield sections, lol. Anyway, the character Orson really loves to read, so I gave Orson the dog a show name with a nod to that. He shares a name with one of my favorite Sesame Street characters, so I took his show name from a line Oscar says after falling down multiple flights of stairs in Christmas Eve on Sesame Street. Always one of my favorite scenes as a kid... hmm, I apparently had issues even back then lol

Pachino Bred by Amber@Flummery I adopted Pachino from Flummery quite a few years ago. He's a purebred dane, and non-inbred too--and 13 generations of it! That's pretty cool! Pachino's a friendly guy who seems to prefer interacting with other Petz than with toys.

He's another one that I bred while I was studying abroad in Argentina! Kind of fittingly, right before I left for South America I watched the Disney movies Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros (which is legit one of my favorite movies ever). I named Panchito after the third caballero, and in the title song he proclaims that he, Donald, and José are bright as a peso! (Who says so? WE SAY SO! The three caballeros!) Patience Adopted by me I adopted Patience for my all-fifteen-breeds project. I took her out at the adoption center first, and then I went for my chihuahua. Since she was a female, I needed a male chihuahua, but I also wanted him to be tan colored, since I believed that I already had the other two colors. (I was actually mistaken, one of my chihuahuas who I thought was cream was actually dusty, but that's another story...) It took me FOREVER to get a male, tan chi. Phineas Bred by Zan I bought Phineas off of PUGS, and he was bred, I believe, with the dalico OW. Isn't he handsome? I named him after one of the title characters from one of my favorite cartoons, Phineas and Ferb, and he's got the enthusiasm to match his namesake. I referenced Bob Ross in the show name, too, since he was always painting happy little clouds and happy little trees... thus, a happy little cat. When PetFlux made it possible for me to pose my dogz much more easily in P4, I was unsure of whether to show JRTs in dali or profile pose. Piano is technically a sheepdog--he was adopted from the shih tzu OW from Cirrutopia. Showing him was a bit of a challenge because of his short, thick legs, and that his eyes weren't very visible in his pose. It did take awhile, but he made it to retirement eventually! He loves to play dress-up.

Because the only thing better than a poodle is a pocket poodle, am I right? I'm in a flute choir and while I don't (usually) play piccolo, one of the members who does will often refer to it as the "instrument of war" and not without reason, lol. So I figured it was a perfect show name for this lovely lady!

She was bred with the BMD OW (I think, anyway) but she's actually a purebred lab, so I bred her into my lab lines to get some nice eye colors in them. Unfortunately, she's also inbred, so most of my labs with neat eye colors are inbred too. Oh well lol

I've always thought that Pink was a little less stuck-up than Slate, but she is still a poodle, after all--and it appears that she is VERY offended by the little mini plushie of herself, lol. She does really enjoy performing tricks and was one of my first trick dogs. Also she actually catches the frisbee?! I legit had no idea that a poodle would even do that, but I thought I'd try with her, and lo and behold... Of course, after a few tries she started doing the poodle "I am absolutely done with this" snobby nose in the air and turning her back on it... but until then, she did still do it! So she earned frisbee titles, too!

Her show name comes from the song Poison by Alice Cooper, and she's not the first of my show petz to have a name from the song lol. There was a time when I would listen to the song almost on loop all day. Pokemon Bred by me Pokemon came from my project in which I decided I wanted a poodle in every possible color combination. His name actually reflects that, since normally I wouldn't care for an orange and dusty color combo, but... well, gotta catch 'em all! When checking out his family tree I was surprised to find that he was only third gen, and non-inbred, too! And not related to Pink and Slate, so maybe I could pair him off with one of their non-inbred descendants and have some purebred, non-inbred, SGCh lineage poodles. Popeye was adopted for my all-fifteen-breeds project, he's named after the sailor man, and his mate is of course named Olive Oyl. I remember I wanted a black lab specifically for my project, since I already had a chocolate and yellow lab. I don't recall any issues in finding him specifically. Popsicle Hexed by Heather I've had Popsicle for quite awhile now--I think I got him as a prize in some sort of PUGS event. He's chill, both in his looks and his personality.
   SGCh Morbit/PH's Popcorn and a MoviePoptop Hexed by Skinstealers@BAD_DEATHI got Poptop from the hexing service Skinstealers had here on RKC where you could get a food-themed persian! I of course requested a popcorn persian, since popcorn is my favorite food. This hex is just so cute, and I actually have two more that I got as surprise/mystery adoptions on PUGS. Hey, I had the points, and not a lot were getting bought, so... I have a trio of food based persians now lol. Poptop did great in shows, and I also discovered while showing her that she's a trickster, so I made her one of my first trick cats too.

Amanda had a couple of these extra-large kitties up for auction, and I limited myself to only bidding on one (I can't remember if Purina or Zsa Zsa was my initial bid). But it was getting to the point that the auctions were about to end, and the other one didn't have any bids on her... so I just decided to go for it lol. And so that's how I got two of these large ladies! Purina has a MC personality, but she's also got extremely low confidence--she's fearful of nearly everything and shakes all the time. Poor thing.

I kept a couple for myself and gave them just placeholder names so that I'd know to not put them up for download or delete them. I called this one "Q", probably just from smashing something random on the keyboard, but even though it was intended to be just a placeholder that I would replace later, I ended up liking the name enough to keep it. It reminded me of the James Bond character, which is short for "quartermaster", hence his show name. I've wanted to enter him in shows from the very beginning since I really like him, but unfortunately I didn't think to keep a copy of him in P3/4, and my attempts at posing him in P5 were... disappointing, to say the least. lol. When PetFlux came along he was one of the first of my dogz that I posed in 4.

And it was also much easier to pose him there, lol. The website name MARK made me think of Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits, so I gave him a Dire Straits song show name. At the end we ended up going from "I love my grandma" to "love sucks, I threw it up", and the musician actually sang a song with all the phrases in it lol. Rowena was a leftover from Bec's breeding service here on the forums, and I kind of tripped over myself to apply for her when her original adopter passed her by. What a perfectly gorgeous specimen, am I right?! As evident by her eyelids, she has a persian personality, but she's got a pretty bad case of the oshie shakes, too.

She's an awesome poser, an awesome breeder, and very friendly--she's bred naturally with a number of petz without me meaning it lol. But she has such good genes that all of her children turn up gorgeous anyway. I of course took her name and show name from the song by the Police!

When I say that my mixie Luden is the one who made me realize that I love poodles, I should probably actually give this boy here the credit... because he's Luden's (and Fuzz-Butt's) father, and Luden wouldn't be who he is without him! I adopted him aaaaaaages ago, from God knows where, and he came hexed with a furfile which has long been lost. I got a texture pack from the PUGS ruby shop and edited him to have this one, since it's similar to his original file (I remember it was dark green and kind of camo-ish). I don't usually show my petz that I don't remember where they came from, but Ryan was altered enough that I felt I could squeak by in this case, lol. He looks snazzy in that bowtie, but he hated wearing it (and any other article of clothing) so I took it off after our photo-shoot |

Like, it was basically to breed this dog exactly (a halfie grey/dusty lab with mutt patches, dali spots, and pink eyes). I remember it took me AGES, even breeding in P5--I kept getting dogs that were there except for one thing, ahaha it was maddening. When Sarsaparilla finally popped out I was ecstatic, lol. I knew for sure I'd be keeping her after all that effort it took to get her. After PetFluxing her into P4, she turned out to be an excellent show dog, too!

Most of the first gen AC poodles I'd seen before him were either the black variety or pink, so Slate really stood out to me, and I still think he's rather handsome. He thinks so too, lol

Snack does have a hidden selfie ear, and she's pretty spotty, which is just how I like my dalis. She's a pretty eager-to-please gal. I remember seeing his puppy pic as part of his litter and thought he was so cute and I quickly applied for him, and when I got him the email said "this guy was popular, lots of people asked for him, but you were the first!" Then I put him in my game and aged him up and found out he was a dali (I was not as good at telling the faces apart back then) and was slightly disappointed, lol. He was part of my temporary obsession with big-ole chi ears on dalis, so there's that at least.

Back when my main purebred projects were calicoes and poodles, I was kind of on a search for other purebreds to add to my crew. I never had much trouble finding purebred calicoes, but poodles were another story. But there were a few websites that offered some, Ragtime being one of them! And when adding Spirit to my show team, I was surprised to find that she's non-inbred (and 7 gen full tree, too). Keeping my purebreds inbred-free wasn't something I paid much attention to back then, but now that I know that Spirit is non-inbred, I might have to find another poodle to breed her to in order to have some inbred-free litters to offer. I took her show name from the Spirit TV show on Netflix that my daughter used to watch all the time lol

Before him, I had just one tamsin, adopted back when the craze was full-blown and most sites made you have to write out very lengthy applications for them since they were such a hot commodity, and little fifteen-year-old me was like "I'm just curious about what the fuss is all about, can I just have one?" I managed to find a site that offered freebie adoptions (rather rare at that time), so I adopted my first tamsin, Gandalf, that way. I never quite saw the appeal, though, so he remained my only tamsin until getting Sprocket in a grabbag. I really liked his looks, and decided I wanted to breed tamsins of my own, but I also wanted to have them be related to Dana and Rufus. You can read on his daughter Garnet's entry to see how I achieved that. If it wasn't for Sprocket, my second tamsin and the secondary trendsetter, I probably wouldn't have bred tams at all (or at least not until much later), so he's a pretty special guy! He was my first show pet, and my only one for a very long while. Like, I'm talking I probably showed him for ten years, on and (very) off lol. I also showed him under a number of prefixes, none of them my current one of PH--I tried my real-life initials, the initials I made up for my Commander character, and finally CKC, short for Commander's Kennels and Cattery. He has 55 show points, and sometimes I toy with the idea of taking him out of retirement and getting him up to 100. Recently I was delighted to learn that he's a trickster as well, so he got to re-enter the show ring as my first trick cat! I adopted Stollen a long time ago from the PCG forums. I think she might have been my first hexie adopted by application, or at least my first since getting more involved in the forums. I didn't normally apply for hexies back then... but come on, look at her! I didn't enter her in shows for the longest time because she has sleepy sickness, and getting a pose out of her was darn near impossible. But recently I decided to devote plenty of time, because I wanted to show her off that much! Her pose isn't perfect, but it was after a lot of work, and I'm happy enough with it.

Tadpole Bred by me I bred Tadpole when I was trying to breed the P5 coats onto calicoes, and he came out looking really neat with his tall legs, alley spots, and lack of tail. I find it kind of funny that I named him after the life stage of a frog that has a tail, even though this Tadpole is lacking one. Tahini Bred by ShebaatjeTahini is another gorgeous Sheba pet--I'm pretty sure I got her in a grabbag, but I'm not 100% sure. Tammy Adopted by me Oh man. Tammy's a very old petz with a very confusing history. I remember I used to like to adopt chihuahuas in the original Dogz 1 game and name them Tammy. I don't remember if Tammy was actually one of those imported into Petz 3 or not. I suspect she is, though. For ages she was in my game, living life as a cream-colored chihuahua. When I got back into Petz around 2013, I remember reading all the breed info on the website Intron/Exon and reading that all cream-colored chis without a chest patch were the teal-eyed variety, and all cream-colored with a chest patch had the dusty or orange eyes. I remember reading that and feeling very confused, because there's Tammy, my cream-colored chi, without a white chest patch but with clearly dusty eyes... I wondered if maybe I'd colored her chest patch cream to match the rest of her, so I hit "restore original colors" on her, and BAM! She was dusty all along! I remember I never really liked the dusty color when I was younger, so I must have painted her way back then and completely forgotten about it. Man, though. She came with her name so she breaks my usual habit of giving my purebred dalis one-syllable names, lol. She fits nicely into my dali crew--she breeds well, and obviously poses well, too!

Test Subject Bred by me As his name might suggest, Test Subject was just the result of a test breeding I'd done. I'd heard about the PetzA hotkeys to make breeding easier, but I hadn't gotten them to work before... but then I read one step that I'd neglected to do in the past (can't even remember what it was now) and wanted to see if it would work. I opened up my game with my current show crew in tow, and took out two of the tams I was showing at the time, Stalemate and Coyote, tried the hotkeys, and... voila! I was intending on placing the pup for sale on PUGS or TFM, but for some reason I grew quite attached to him, and couldn't bear to part with him. He followed in his parents' pawsteps and did awesome in the show ring!

Toro Bred by me Okay, so... I used to have a bunch of folders with just random breedings I'd done that I pulled from periodically for PUGS/TFM adoptions. I used the PetzPicFactory application to pull pics from their files to see what each one looked like. I bred this guy ages ago, from two random dali mixies (one of them being Jellyfish) and stuck him in one of those folders. I put him back in my game to see what he looked like and if he was sellable, and I found out that A: he was huge, and B: he had a poodle personality, and I just... could... NOT get rid of him lol. I thought he looked like a giant cow (or bull, rather), hence his name. Tosca Bred by me Tosca is one of my purebred, non-inbred persians. Her mother is Marimba. I named him after the character from Paw Patrol (I have a young daughter at home, remember lol) and each of the pups have a catchphrase--his is "Todos oidos, I'm all ears!" Lately, I've been trying to show my mutts in dali pose rather than dane/profile. I did a posing session with Xavier here (one of my purebred, non-inbred mutts) with that intention. But his dali pose turned out awful--I don't remember if it was a case of uneven eyelids or what. But then he went and gave me this FANTASTIC dane pose, and I decided to make an exception in his case lol. Uneven eyelids don't matter when you can only see one of them!
SGCh PH's Warrior PrincessXena Bred by meLook at this beautiful dog, then remember that she's the first dog I EVER bred in Petz, and it's a wonder my standards aren't higher due to her beauty. She's Dana and Rufus's very first pup, born January 2, 1999, and I must say she turned out really gorgeous! Sometimes when breeding a dane and a sheepdog the results are... awkward, to say the least, but Xena got the best from both parents (along with that gorgeous dark brown eye color mutation!). She also inherited her mom's clumsiness, but oh well lol. When Dana was pregnant and I was anxiously awaiting the birth of my first mixie in P3, I said that if it was a girl I would name her Xena, since my dad was really into the show at the time (and now that I'm adult, I realize it... wasn't purely for plot-related reasons lol). I know I've seen other petz named Xena with the show name Warrior Princess, but come on, you can't not use the name for a Xena, it's just too perfect.

Zamenhof is one of my Lydia Meows selective breed. He isn't one of the original ones that I bred from scratch, though. There weren't any with chest or face patches and I wanted at least one with those, so I bred some of mine with calicoes from Cargo's calico catalog. This guy got red fur and green eyes, my favorite fur and eye colors! I named him after the creator of the Esperanto language.

Pink likes to show off and is a natural for agility and trick shows... that is, before her poodle "ugh, I am DONE with this" instinct kicks in. Frisbee shows are even more of a challenge, as the poor girl only has an acrobatic level of 9 (out of 100...) But we are both nothing if not stubborn, and are determined to see all of her competitions through to the highest title possible, for Pink the poodle deserves nothing less
