So I have two very similar poses. there's one small differnce between them. Does it matter? Am i just being "pinicky" I cannot tell if the other breeds are able to do the generic dali, dane, poodle pose.... you guys have my brain boozled over here.

I don’t have any experience with the realistic breeds but I’m not sure this dog is doing the “pose action” here since its pupils aren’t centered in the eyeball. I think all dog breeds should be able to do the dali/dane pose motion unless it’s based on a poodle personality, who pose by lying down and crossing their legs.

Unfortunately, your dog isn't posing in either of those photos. Check out this super clear guide on how to get great poses! petzforum.proboards.com/post/653310/threadNotice how in the profile/dane pose, the dog is always looking at the camera, and is 'puffed up' with their tail held high. (note, some breedz have hexed tails which cannot move, like the borzoi mix and border collie pictured below. But both the husky and collie have tails which can move, therefore they are held up high above the body to make a 'c' shape) Here are some examples of more 'realistic breedz' posing: also, make sure you get the ankles as aligned as possible! This is how judges decide which poses place best to worst in shows most of the time, of course with other considerations, but alignment being the most important!

Don't give up! You're so close! Posing is definitely more of a marathon rather than a sprint, and a lot of it is based on luck, so it can be frustrating. It looks like you're using Dogz 5 as well from your profile? For some reason in this version, it's less likely for dogs to hold their poses for very long, as they get more easily distracted by the camera. If you have access to Dogz/Petz 4 this might make things easier, but if not, it is possible to get a pose pic in Dogz 5, it's just a bit more difficult and time-consuming. So take some comfort in the fact that the problems are because of the game I love that Malamute file, and the mixies you've bred with it! You've inspired me to try posing with it myself at some point! Which is the great thing about sharing pictures and the process, so thank you! I would say take some time to really familarise yourself with the way your dog reacts to the camera, because there are several different reaction animations depending on your pet's breed and personality. A pose is a very specific animation triggered by the camera, that sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't. In this guide, under the heading 'Front Pose', there is a gif of a Dalmatian doing the posing animation cycle. In a posing animation cycle you can get both a front face (Dali) and a side facing (Dane) pose, the difference is the movement of the head while the body stays still. I'm sure I'm basically just reiterating what has already been said, so I'm sorry for that, but your side-facing pup pics still aren't from the pose animation (and therefore they aren't actually posing), which makes me think you're not familiar with the animation you're looking for? Which is totally ok and as you said, we all start somewhere! It will become so recognisable to you eventually, you just have to get used to it! Again with Dogz 5, the posing animation can easily be disrupted as you're attempting to photograph it so it will take a fair bit of patience. But you've got this!! And it's great to see you in shows ^^
