Dogz Genealogy Tree - Every Dogz Born into my Family

So, here's a fascinating development that has a huge impact on my Dogz family line.

This is gingerade 's Rootbeer, a recent sodapup adoption. Just look at this adorable scamp:

And here's my own Boba, a fourth generation pup in my OG lineage:

I thought these two would be an amazing couple, an idea inspired by their beverage-related names. But then I realized... I have another dog named after a drink situation. It's Vente, adopted from Rho :

WELL.

I let all three of them hang out for a while to let their own hearts guide them, and these two... they had their own plans.

So now Rootbeer and Vente are expecting a puppy! This is super exciting for two reasons. For one, they're a match made between adoptions from two lovely folks on the board whose sentimental posts get me in feels, and whom I think will appreciate this love that was clearly meant to be. And for two, for the first time ever I am starting a new family tree that is entirely separate from my OG crew! I find that pretty awesome.

We'll see how these two lineages interact with each other when Rootbeer and Vente welcome their first. :)

(It looks like Boba is getting third-wheeled here, but in all seriousness, she didn't even care, haha.)

Wow folks, it has been far too long since I updated this thread.  First thing's first: the up-to-date tree!

In truth we've had precious few new additions to my original family line in the past several years because I got sidetracked by my first selective breeding project in 2021, then by learning how to show in 2023.  If you squint really hard you might be able to tell that Cinnamon and Hotaru have had three more pups, and that Traveller and Odo have done the same -- but don't strain your eyes too much.  I'll be back in a bit to put a proper spotlight on these litters that have grown... as well as to announce the arrival of my first sixth-gen pup! (I am SO excited about this.)

For now, though, I think we all know what we've been waiting for.  We've been waiting for some news about the passionate surprise romance between Rootbeer and Vente.  How has life been going for them since we last updated?

Well, get ready to feel like you just got blindsided by some family photos of an old friend from way back when on social media, because...

Surprise!  They have four children now!!

The fact that their family has grown so much between then and now without my posting about it is actually hitting close to home at the moment, because my 25th elementary school reunion just happened and I've since learned that several classmates of mine have become parents many times over, hah!

Martinelli just came out into the playpen on their own today, so as of now, all these kids are independent pups.  Cocoa is an absolute LOVE who takes after her dad so much, popping wide-eyed handstands all over the place.  Truly her father's daughter, it's fitting that it's her paws that appear to be covered in marshmallow topping and not, say, her muzzle; this topsy-turvy stunt kid has absolutely no regard for being rightside-up.

It is very, very likely that Cocoa is going to marry into my gigantic OG family line, making it even more gigantic.  Only time will tell, my friends.  Only time...
