I love how the term petz is used as a verb. "I feel like petzing right now" or "I hope to have time to petz later today". Then I thought about how that term is really different for all the people who play this game. It's pretty nuts!
So I felt like making a thread where we can talk about our favorite ways to petz and things we don't currently do, but would like to try! (also it'd be a fun thread for newbies to post or read ^^)
Thor's Favorite Petzing Activities: - Buying, trading, and collecting. Its just so addictive to browse websites like PUGs and TFM or just go thru breeding service leftovers or other threads giving away petz. Making points is also pretty fun and exciting too! Just seeing how well a pet does in auctions is such a fun feeling. Finally I love add photos of my petz to a giant document so that I can see my collection (kind of like a stamp or TCG collection). The collecting aspect is just so fun (even if its at odds with the fact I feel like I have to play with and love them all!).
- Posing for shows (both forum and PKC). I have been loving this activity lately. Not only is the idea of competing just loads of fun (even if the act of posing is less than enjoyable), its even more fun/exciting when your pet places well! <3 Keeping track of points or seeing progress is so much fun. Also, showing is such a great way to show off petz: both ones you bred AND ones you bought or collected. (I prefer this to a website because it takes love and work <3)
- Playing. The AI is so impressive and I love the story that the petz weave as they run and play around my screen. They each have their own unique personalities and I love it x3 I also laugh the most while playing with petz. I try to find a way to cycle thru petz and naturally raise but it can be quite tiring to keep track of so lately I just play with who I feel like playing with ^^
Thor Wishes To Petz More: - Breeding. I just don't enjoy it as much and end up feeling bad for all the petz that don't have chest patches or homes. </3 I think I'd rather breed with a purpose like maybe a litter of championed show petz or my favorites fall in love, etc.
- Make a crew website or a general place to show off my petz. I just love the idea of collection but I also want others to see the petz I've collected (esp if they bred said petz).
- Hexing. I think I'm more interested in painting (think PKC) hexing, but I'd love to feel more inspiration for body-mod hexing. It'd be fun to give back to the community in this way one day~

I'm mostly breeding, be it for show or working on my Sammies, or just for the heck of it. I sometimes feel bad that I don't take pictures of all of my petz, but that's just not my thing.

"Petzing" for me is mostly breeding as well. I love adopting out petz to other people, because everyone has such a vast array of what they like; what might be super ugly to me might be someone else's dream pet. It's also exciting to see what kinds of crazy combinations I can get when I breed some of my favorite petz together!
I do tend to get so wrapped up in breeding though that I feel like I don't actually play that much. I'd love to learn to hex but it's been kind of a struggle since I'm much more of a visual learner and LNZ just throws me for a loop... It's also my goal to, after I finish my crew sites, get into showing! Raising petz naturally seems like fun, too. I'd just like to do things that get me back into actually playing with my petz!

Petzing for me is mostly breeding, with occasional playtime, posing, hexing etc. I also love the whole PUGS, TFM, etc buying/selling petz, that's actually the first thing I do everyday after taking care of my RL petz, is head onto PUGS and TFM and look through the adoptions. I wish I were better at hexing but it's something that takes time to perfect and halfway through i'm always either "this will do" or " this is ugly, delete" even though I spent 10-12+ hours on a hex. Breeding for me is simple and fun! I love to see what 2 petz will make as a baby and most of the time i'm like "how did this come out of those 2 dogz?". I usually end up placing petz up for adoption even if they are not my cup of tea because they may be somebody elses! And most of the time they do sell pretty fast and I am always shocked lol.

Right now my focus is on breeding, even though I'm at the point that I'm not really looking to add much more to my crew, lol. Now that I've finished my purebreds for my website I'm working on breeding a pink-eyed purebred of every breed. I finally finished all ten PFMagic original Dogz breeds yesterday when I bred a pink-eyed dachshund! He's an orange/dusty color combination and I don't even care lol With all these Petz, I'm also working on showing, since I've gotten a system down for getting good poses, I feel (and since I have all of my P5 Dogz in P4 and am able to much more easily get good show poses from them). It's a nice way to show off not only the fruits of my own breeding projects, but the lovely Petz I've adopted from other people. And I did actually try hexing about a month ago. O.O I've kind of moved back to the breeding and showing side, but I would like to some day get back to that and finish it. I have a lot of respect for hexers; I'm not sure I have the patience for this (and the hex I'm attempting is pretty simple, too!). That said, I was pleased to see my progress as I worked and it's nice to know that even though I'm not good at it/don't have the patience for it, at least I know the basics of HOW to hex now lol

I get major anxiety when I think about breeding litters again! O.O Mostly, this is because I am currently sorting through files that I left in an unorganized chaos 3 years ago. :c I've been slowly dipping a toe into the breeding pool though, and have posted a few things on TFM. (HAD to be part of something new) xD
What I would love though, is to be active in everything petz related. Shows, adopting out things. I have a whole list of new toys/clothes that I want to make for the game. I've even hexed something. ^_^
So really, for now, I'm focused mainly on getting my files organized so that I can be more active. xD The petz I've adopted recently all hang out in my game together, and we're all just chillin' and being petz. I had forgotten how fun the beach is ;-;

My favorite Petzing activities: Breeding! That's always been my number one favorite activity! I love to have the surprise of what I'm going to get, and that's one reason why I usually breed very mixed petz (the more different body parts, the better!). I adore the Petz 5 breedz because of the variety they bring in -- I couldn't stand breeding without them. What I particularly like to do is breed through generations of SGCh-titled petz.
I like the idea of selective breeding a lot too, but I've never had the patience to truly finish a selective breed. Right now, I'm trying to obtain "non-meezing meezers": Siamese-headed catz without the Siamese personality -- Mau ears would be a bonus. I keep my Petz files very organized (zipped in sub-folders named after the parents, with screenshots of each litter's birth certificate, plus one picture of each individual pet). I also have folders for petz I adopt, sorted by who I adopted them from. I go dig in there with relish whenever I want to breed.
Adopting! I also like adopting -- I often can't resist the cuteness or uniqueness, but they also bring new blood for my breeding endeavors (I often think in terms of breeding when I select petz to adopt, as I'm trying to breed out certain personalities or physical traits from my lines). Showing! Without showing, I kind of don't see the point of breeding. All those beautiful petz stored on my hard disk that nobody else but me would ever see? Such a waste! Mostly though, going through their entire show career with them makes them so much more special to me. It adds value to them in my eye, and helps me remember them just about forever.
What I wish I did more: Playing. I almost never play with my petz. I used to, at the very beginning (in Petz 1 and 2), but I lose interest very quickly for some reason (I'm the same with Sims: love to create them and build their houses, and then get bored when it's time to play with them).
Hexing. I dabbed in it a little bit, made a few very simple breedz (which I frequently use in my breeding as OW), but I never had the patience to learn anything more than the easiest things.
Adopting Petz out: I kind of hate that I don't do that more... One reason is the time it takes to get it all ready (I'm so methodical, it gets annoying), but the main reason is that I have a very hard time to part with petz I breed. I always seem to find a reason I would want to keep them, just in case blah blah blah. SLAP! Come on now!!! I have to get better with this and put some litters up for adoption, especially now that people might be more interested in adopting P5 petz!

My favourite petzing activities are reading forum threads and discord messages and chatting and connecting with people. I also enjoy playing with my crew without any limits or goals.
I honestly wish I did more of what actually costs effort like taking photos and making show offs, adding more to my site and hexing and breeding. Honestly though when it comes to the PC I prefer to just relax. Life is busy enough without adding obligations to my free time. I don't really have a large crew or anything so it's not like I 'take' much from the community without giving, I'm just a very minor player I guess.

Personally, selective breeding doesn't interest me much & getting ~perfect posing~ is an elusive art to me & frustrates me, so uhh -
My favorite Petzing activities:
- Playing with them! though I can quickly get bored of it like many things, I love to watch how my petz interact & the drama that ensues (at least, I love interpreting it like a TV show or something? I tend to do that a lot in games eheh, which leads to the next point- - Making up stories with them - whether it's to do a pix + subtitles showoff, or just for my own personal enjoyment ^^ I feel obligated to for any & every showoff? - Entering non-standard shows - no big reason, it's just fun for me to enter contests with more freedom ^^
What I wish I did more:
- Hexing. I find myself having a new hexing idea every few weeks or so, but it always ends up half-finished or barely even started ^^"" - Downsizing my crew - I love all my petz but the idea of having a tidy & tiny crew appeals to me - I believe it was Sasha's small crew that made me want to have a small crew too? But I'm sentimental over a lot of my petz,,, - Making stuff for the PC - iunno, stamps, freebie breeds/toyz/etc, I tend to keep to myself/what I want a bit ^^"

What Petzing is to me: - breeding: I am back to breeding many things, not just dalis! It's lots of fun for me, and reminds me why I fell in love with the game in the first place. I love seeing all the endless possibilities that express themselves. - showing: I am an avid PKCer and love showing and judging. Back when I first entered the PC I loved doing forum shows, and now I've moved over to the PKC ring, but the fact still remains that I love a darn good pose! - graphics: the PC has always been very heavily associated with graphics and websites, and I still love to do both. There is a really big artistic component for me, even though it's technically not part of the game. This also includes making stamps for me now, which is something I was never really big on previously. I enjoy making avatars and siggys, shows offs (albeit I do these so rarely ) and various other artsy things with my petz! - hexing: I am trying to make myself a better hexer, and that means spending time getting comfortable with addballs! I'm doing better, and slowly making progress. For now I'm content messing around and taking things slow, but eventually I want to hex breeds for PKC and maybe do some crazy wildz one day. I also love making clothes and toyz, especially when I can share them and see them in your pics you guys share! <3 I'm sure there's much, much more, but these are my big ones. There is much more I wish I could do for the PC, but a girl can only do so much!

Favourite things to do: Play with them. Honestly I still love just playing with the little fuzzballs. I don't spend hours doing it but I do smile when I bring them out and play ball or pick two pets out and see how they get on. I also love trying to capture cute/funny moments for avatars or to show off although I've been a bit slack with that. I love trying to get that perfect shot though.
Hanging out in Pix of Your Litter. I love seeing what everyone else's petz are up to as well. Whether that's through story telling or just showing off a few cute shots I love looking at them all, even if I don't comment.
Breeding. Although I try not to do this too much because I hardly ever put things up for adoption and it's a little overwhelming having folders full of pending petz. I do love seeing what combos I can get out of different parings.
Things I wish I did more of:
Hexing. I have lists of ideas for things to make but I just never do them because I take. so. long. to hex anything, I either get too bogged down fiddling with details or I'm just too lazy I guess.
Website. My poor neglected website. I like the idea of building up a collection of images for each pet but there are too many to do this for all of them. I could just do a simple one page list for each pet type but that's so impersonal so it's just stuck in limbo at the moment. Also...
Downloads. I often take screenshots in World of Warcraft and The Sims with the intention of making them into playscenes and just never get around to it. (can you see a pattern? lol)
Adoptions. Both here and on PUGS. I don't think I've ever actually listed anything on PUGS, that I can remember anyway.

This ^ I don't care if its not a fancy long winded show off, I love just seeing silly random photos of petz; I love scrolling thru and seeing cute petz <3 (this has also made me realize we need more non-standard shows and contests) ((also add to my list: I need to do more artsy things to learn how to use those fancy art programs better))
