@copper, there is a game mod called 'petza' which makes it possible to breed petz and have the puppies born instantly. My guess is that with TOP the previous owner was 'naturally raising' which means breeding and letting the puppies grow up naturally without the use of petza, some lines and just petza breeding with others. I hope this helps as for the names I don't know, I'm quite new to the PC (petz community) too.

Thanks Lunarkitty! That's actually really helpful. I was thinking of maybe continuing the lines in the future and would want to "naturally raise" then aswell. I think your assumption is correct though since Petza doesn't seem to be installed on this computer.
Is Naturally-Bred preferred to using Petza? The way I figure it it would take a lot more time so I don't know if it's common or not to do so.

It sounds like petza was used to speed the time required for breeding. You might want to check the Toyz folder for petza. If not you can download it from here www.sherlocksoftware.org/page.php?id=2 . On the top bar of the game it should show PetzA if it is installed.
If the petz were raised and aged naturally that would explain the time gap between generations.
By the way welcome to the forum and thanks for including us in your mystery.

It sounds like someone used Petz A for breeding etc. whereas the person who bred the TOP's lined dogz wasn't using Petz A (meaning the dogz grew up naturally). Most people use a program called Petz A for breeding because you can use it to make your dog grow up, their puppies grow up, instant births, manage their weight/neglect etc. Edit; Sorry for elaborating everything, I didn't realize other's had answered

Welcome to Petz! I agree that that's an awesome way to get introduced to the game. As for the gaps between breeding generations, the ones that were only a day apart or the same day would have been bred via PetzA: www.sherlocksoftware.org/page.php?id=6 It basically allows for instant breeding, so that you can breed Petz, instantly age them up, and then breed them the day they were born! Amongst lots of other things. It sounds like the former owner owner was breeding the labs naturally, without PetzA, but was using PetzA for the other lines. ETA; a ha ha, didn't even notice there was a second page to this. So I'm just repeating everyone else before me, lol. As to your question about naturally raising being preferred or not, some people do prefer to naturally raise, but it seems most Petz players use PetzA to at least some degree, so it's not that big of an issue with most.

@copper, you're welcome well, I think it's just another trait people might look for, just like non inbred petz. I think most petz aren't naturally raised nowadays. Happy to help

Is Naturally-Bred preferred to using Petza? The way I figure it it would take a lot more time so I don't know if it's common or not to do so. Most people don't care at all, I think almost everybody uses PetzA when breeding. There are some people who value naturally raising their petz, though, so I'd guess those same people would possibly prefer to adopt naturally bred and raised petz as well. But really, it hardly matters, just play the game whichever way seems the most fun to you.
