Hello! I'm skissors, as you can probably tell from the handy information to the right of this post. I doubt any of you remember me, as I've bopped in and out of the PC many times, and under several different names. Even if I could remember them all (which I can't), you probably wouldn't recognize them anyways, as I've always been more of a lurker than an active poster. However, I hope to change that in the near future.
I was first re-reminded of petz while perusing the local thrift store a few weekends ago. I happened to spot on the shelve a big-box copy of both the original Dogz and Catz games. Overcome with a wave of nostalgia, I snatched up the games, and after a bit of fiddling (which I may post a guide about later, if there's interest) managed to get the games running on my computer. Lo and behold, even the earliest games still are incredibly addicting, and I found myself longing to rejoin the petz community. Thus, here I am.
Right now, the only games I have installed are the originals, and Petz II, which I manged to find stashed away on a flash drive for some reason. I hope to soon find my old CDs and reinstall Petz 4 and 5 to rejoin the community proper, but I also hope to maybe reinvigorate some interest in the older games, too. They still stand up, even when compared to the newer games. There's a certain charm to how simple they are, especially with the first pair.
Anyways, enough rambling on about the petz games. I'm glad to back as part of the petz community, and I hope that you'll soon see me around
