Yes! I also didn't liked the fact that once you switched your active household, you couldn't return to your first household without the Sims grown old(er)xD haha.
Oh well, someone I know is going to pre-order her copy of the game so I'll probably let her show me it and how it all works, before I'll decide to buy it myself=).
Plus, I'm much more excited about november 21th!=D Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire will be released that day and I'd much rather spend my money on the Sapphire game^^ haha.

Well, actually, I believe you can turn off the aging for sims 3 so the other households don't age.

In addition to disabling aging, I think there is a setting that disables story progression in other households... so they won't move or get new jobs or anything.

^ That's what I was talking about when I said disabling aging in other households. They stay in a sort of frozen state, you'll still see them around town, but it'll be back to sims 2 kind of functioning.

^ Doesn't that also stop aging for the household we're currently playing though? I think it does.

No, I'm pretty sure there's a setting just for it to work like ts2. I could be wrong, but I think I remember seeing that, I'll check the next time I play.
Edit:
If you go into your settings (I think it's the very last tab), there's an "enable story progression" option. If you uncheck it, it'll keep neighbors from doing other things it said and if I remember correctly from what I read when the game first game out, it'll keep them at ts2 status, basically.

^ You're right. I see the aging is a separate option we can turn off, and that's the one that also affect the active household. So, even with Story Progression turned off, other households will continue to age (unless you also turn off aging, but then your active household is stuck in time), so it's not completely like TS2 :\

I thought it also turned off aging (hence story progression) for those households. Let me see if I can find where I read that and see if I'm remembering correctly.
Edit: Yeah, I think from everything I've read, if you turn off story progression it also stops the aging on the neighborhood (not your house).

If you turn off aging, can't you still force your sims to age by using a birthday cake, or even with "testingcheatsenabled"?

That I have no idea, I've never turned off aging for my household.

Just a heads up but gog.com have started their summer sale and Steam's Summer sale is heavily rumoured to start on the 19th of June. GOG is being clever by offering bigger discounts if you buy their bundles instead of individual games but of course you are not saving any money if you are paying extra for games you weren't planning to buy in the first place. I really need to be extra picky this year. I just don't play enough to keep up with the games that I want to finish but I have got my eye on a few things. Question for anyone who has played the Rollercoaster Tycoon series. I've never played the games and have had my eye on RCT2 for quite a while, I like the old school graphic style compared to RCT3 but I'm wondering if it would feel clunky to play compared to the third game?

^ Thank for letting me know about GOG! I haven't received an email from them about it yet, so had no idea they'd started! I've been a HUGE fan of the whole RCT series, from 1 to 3, passing by all the expansions. I've always had a sweet spot for RCT 2, which remains my most-played and favorite of the 3. Even though I love all the additions in RCT 3 (especially the ability to ride our rides, the water rides, and the day/night cycle), I always preferred the actual gameplay in RCT 2. I actually reinstalled it on my computer not so long ago and it plays fine, except that the resolution is a little stretched on my superwide monitor. There is just one thing that always drove me crazy about the RCT 2: the amount of rides/shops/decor that can be used in a park are limited. Meaning, you can't have everything that's available in the game at once. So, for instance, if you create a map using the custom map editor, you'll have to pick and choose which rides/shops/decor/trees, etc, you want to become available through research while playing that map (that's still PLENTY available at a time -- it's just hard to pick which when you have the contents from all expansions to choose from). Aside from that, I love it dearly

Sounds good. I haven't bought it yet but regret not doing it sooner as it's "only" 50% off now. I might wait to see if they repeat the lower price at some point during the sale as apparently they do that sometimes but I'd be quite happy with the current price, just want to save funds for other goodies.

Origin is also doing a sale right now, I snagged a dlc world for about half what I would've paid had I bought it directly from the Sims 3 store.
I also saw some expansion and stuff packs marked down incredibly too, I almost bought Diesel.

I'm hesitating about Dragon Valley for $5.99 too... Do you have it Selena? Is it worth it? I was also interested in Island Paradise, but it's only 50% off (I'm Steam-spoiled).
