What American accent do you have?Your Result: The Midland"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio. Result Breakdown:77% The Midland 72% The South 70% The Northeast 69% The Inland North 66% Philadelphia 50% The West 34% Boston 9% North Central Quiz Created on GoTo QuizMy mom thinks it's hilarious when I say "horrible". xDDD How am I supposed to say it?!

What American accent do you have? Your Result: The West Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta. Result Breakdown: 96% The West 95% The Midland 75% Boston 73% North Central 33% The Inland North 27% Philadelphia 27% The South 21% The Northeast Quiz URL: www.gotoquiz.com/what_american_accent_do_you_havetehe:3

What American accent do you have? Your Result: The Inland North You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop." Result Breakdown: 89% The Inland North 88% The Midland 85% The South 80% Philadelphia 57% The Northeast 32% North Central 24% The West 7% Boston Quiz Created on GoTo Quiz
This is cool, but I'm not from the Inland North, try the Mid Atlantic =D

What American accent do you have?Your Result: The NortheastJudging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak. Result Breakdown:77% The Northeast 77% The Midland 77% The Inland North 74% Philadelphia 55% Boston 54% The West 51% The South 32% North Central Quiz Created on GoTo Quiz^That's fairly correct, though sometimes I do slip into a sorta further-north accent of Vermont/New Hampshire with some words or phrases.

The whole midland not having an accent thing is a bunch of bs. If you compare how you speak to other people, it will be different, therefore, that is your accent.

Well, I speak American English with a slight (I think) French accent, although I suppose I have some kind of an American accent on top of it... The quiz says I have a Philadelphia accent, haha! Never been there, but okay I lived for 6 years in Detroit (and I used to say "pop" for soda, yes), and now for 10 years in Ohio. What American accent do you have?Your Result: PhiladelphiaYour accent is as Philadelphian as a cheesesteak! If you're not from Philadelphia, then you're from someplace near there like south Jersey, Baltimore, or Wilmington. if you've ever journeyed to some far off place where people don't know that Philly has an accent, someone may have thought you talked a little weird even though they didn't have a clue what accent it was they heard. Result Breakdown:100% Philadelphia 90% The Midland 81% The South 78% The Inland North 73% The Northeast 25% Boston 25% The West 8% North Central Quiz Created on GoTo Quiz

I'm kind of thinking they mean you don't have an accent to other Americans, not that you have no accent entirely.

--I live in the deep south, and am currently changing the way I talk because of the Cajuns I'm always around now. Apparently, it's not enough to give me a very southern accent, according to this quiz, but I do say y'all a lot. I'm kind of thinking they mean you don't have an accent to other Americans, not that you have no accent entirely. They -might- have meant that. But do you know how many people literally believe they have no accent at all? It's astounding, completely. Of course, that's often partially because they haven't really heard the way they talk against others. However, I've also known some sites and even professors who swear they don't have an accent, so I wanted to get that point across.

Being from Southern Indiana, I guess I have what is being referred to as The Midland accent. ^_^ Honestly, there's just a few people that have much of an accent at all, lol. It seems like we sound pretty much the same as the majority of people in the US. :0 Usually when we go on vacation the accents don't really seem all that different from what we hear at home... That sort of turned into a rant...x]

I took the "what American accent do you have" quiz despite being Canadian. XD The results are telling.
What American accent do you have? Your Result: North Central "North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot. Result Breakdown: 86% North Central 84% The West 75% The Midland 63% Boston 30% The Inland North 23% The South 13% Philadelphia 9% The Northeast Quiz Created on GoTo Quiz
The emphasis is mine. I guess I just have a very Canadian accent, haha.

^ That's true enough. xD I didn't realize all Americans had accents until was like 13. :P Hee hee, same with me. xD I used to believe that how I spoke was plain and accent-less, and everyone else had a variation off of mine. I didn't get out much as a child. <_< >_>
