I love the way people in America think there's only 2 English accents: frightfully posh or London slang ahaha. There must be at least 10 different accents within English speech, not counting Irish, Welsh and Scottish accents. Southern accents, London accents, Northern & Midlander accents (and all their variants i.e. Jordie, Scouser, Yorkshire etc), then there are weird ones like Plummy and some with hints of French to them.

My accent sometimes changes. Sometimes I sound posh british, sometimes it's london slang, sometimes I sound italian (no idea why) and other times I just sound like some random old man who offers you sweets from an alleyway xDD (Jkjk. They don't do that...often.)

Well... most the time (in TV and movies) British accents are very similar. Or at least when I was young they all sounded similar to me. Maybe that's why? I don't know XD NOW I hear the differences but yeah..
Do people in other countries think all Americans sound the same/have the same accent?

I don't. I can tell the difference between american ones xD I think it might be because I watch WAY too much american TV where the actors are from where the shows actually set xD

Apparntly Canadians have an accent to Americans HAHA Just found this out. Umm, I don't really like accents but I'm fine with them. Every place has their own accent, regardless if they are on the same continent or even the same country. Each part of the US has it's own accent, even if it's just a different section or just a different city.

I LOVE accents. Seriously. French, American, even people from other parts of Britain/U.K. I just love accents!
They make people so individual! <3

would like to point out that re: supernanny - very few british people say 'esacly' instead of exactly haha, that's not her accent.
i say water "worta", haha. it's like do you say film or fil-um? i say a mix of both but mostly film!
i oddly like my accent, because it's not so geordie that i sound rough but you can still tell i'm northern.
the only difference between american accents is the type you find on movies and then the really screechy ones that hurt my ears! sorry if anyone is screechy lol, i can't imagine you's to find a lot of british accents nice so i feel free saying that haha.

That is true in the movies. Believe me, just going from place to place even in the same state the accents can vary by quite a bit. A lot of people don't even think they have an accent, but that's because they're so used to it, they don't hear it.

I forgot to add, I slightly adore Boston accents. I had a crush on a kid when I was in kindergarten-3rd grade who had when.
I am surprised nobody has mentioned the Dutch accent. I live in Amsterdam, and have to listen to it all day long. I just do not like it in general. It sounds even...more awkward when they speak English.
I also like German accents, but there are many of them. For example: The southern German speakers talk in a more jumbled up way and faster. I don't see how my Opa can speak like that, it amazes me. 0__0

Being an American is fun, especially if you're from Massachusetts. Where I live (near Worchester) the people are famous for pronnouncing things silly (according to other Americans). Examples include: Haverhill = averill Worchester = wustah Boston = bahstun Groton = Grotin and some others I can't remember at the moment. The one thing that drives me up the wall like no other is when I call for take-out and the person manning the phone has such a heavy accent I can't understand them. I know it's not their fault, but it drives me nuts when I have no idea what the person is asking me when all I want are my gorram crab rangoons. Can't forget greenwich CT (Gren-itch). Groton is the said same here, but here in CT, we call Worchester (Woo-ster). And i have a strange love for heavy, thick cockney (british) accents.

Loser me was listening to my family speak all night and I notice we say "em" instead of "them" quite often. Annnd..
Wanna = Want to Needa or Need ta = Need to Cran = Crayon
I noticed that I even type like that too sometimes XD We don't say things like that ALL the time but it does happen.
We so need to record ourselves talking XD It would be fun~
