Animal rights, capital punishment & stem cell research.
My friend and I got into a debate over pit bulls which somehow lead to horse racing and argh, I won't even get into it. Some people can be so closed minded about how one dog cannot define an entire breed. Drives me crazy. One more thing, not so much with rights but religion based, is that religion stats animals do not have a soul. I actually wrote on a test, "I believe animals have souls, so I choose not to answer this question." Capital punishment... is not in Canada. I'm all for capital punishment. It's sort of like King Hammurabi's"an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" law system back in the Mesopotamian era. If you slapped your father, your hand was cut off. Equal. I'll stop now, because I don't want to get too heated, but yeah. Stem cell research is something that I believe would be able to solve many problems. I've only learned about it briefly in a video in Biology, however I see much potential in it and I think it would be amazing to cure mental diseases etc. with stem cells.
I could possibly name a few more, however I chose three that I feel strongly about. Others make it on my list, just not as high as I don't encounter them as often. Oh, and by "encounter as often" I mean more particularly in my school. When I debate over things with my friends. In the real world, I encounter them. In high school world, not so much xD

Gay Rights gets me a bit heated. I believe that people should be able to love whoever they want and not be judged for it. Politics gets me heated because of the big deal everyone makes over them. I say 'who cares!!!" whenever people argue over politics, but maybe thats just me. I also chose "none" because I try to be optimistic and more...mellow about issues that work others up. Getting heated over something doesnt change anything but I believe discussing it calmly and taking appropitate action DOES change things. I wish everyone could see it this way somedays.

Religion, evolution vs. ID, and abortion (gay rights, stem cell research, and euthanasia are close seconds). Ehm. I tend to get a bit overly heated on those subjects, so I'll just say I'm a strong atheist and leave it at that.
Animal rights also get me worked up, but I'd say my views are a slight variation from the norm (don't worry yourselves, that's not to say I'm for animal cruelty XD).

I chose: Abortion: I'm 100% pro-choice. Gonna leave it at that! Censorship: Freedom of speech, blah blah blah Religion: I chose this because it seemed like other issues, such as gay rights and evolution v. intelligent design, spring from this. I'm agnostic, but am open to all beliefs as long as they aren't shoved down other's throats. Oh, and I'm 100% for gay rights too.

War: If it's needed war can be a good way to get things done, pacifists need to realize this. Having many friends in the military and me possibly joining up I realize war is a very bad thing, but world peace isn't going to be any time soon so you might as well get used to losing comrads (in this case five of my friends so far) but acknowledge were just doing what is needed. Evolution versus intellegent design: their is EVIDENCE of evolution, and even being catholic( by birth) I believe in Evolution 100%. I mean more importantly the bible isn't literal and god certainly didnt make us out of clay. I believe in a greater being or karma or something and the beginning of life wasn't just a lucky roll of the dice, but i don't think that everything happened in 7 days. maybe 4 billion years, but not 7 days literally. Nuclear weapons: A good way to take someone down, support research and development of them. I dont think we should use them often, but having them could be useful. Im such a radical person.

Gay rights, animal rights, and politics (global warming following close behind) I also get a bit heated about religion. People tend to get offended at my bluntness =x but hey, there's a lot of hypocricy out there... ok, I'll stop c; [atheist/]
But man, gay rights get me heated. So much so that I think some might think I'm gay but ah well, they don't know me.
Dis thread gets me debative so I'mma move on ^_~

I chose Abortion, Animal Rights, and Politics.
I am pro-CHOICE 100%. Absolutly nothing could possibly change my mind. I get very heated up about animal rights. I personally think they should have just as many rights as a person does. And I get VERY heated about politics. I went crazy this last election. I am republican and way against obama.
Tis all I has to sayz.

Gay rights, Racism, and Religion. 1.) I treat others as I wish to be treated, and as a heterosexual I like to have the option of marriage, therefore homosexuals should be given the same options as well. Equality all around. 2.) Usually hypocritical racists or prejudice anti-racists get me fumed. If someone wants to be racist, let them, as long as it does not harm others (ie, dont go physically or emotionally scarring the people you dislike, you can hate someone, but don't harm them in doing so). 3.) I'm athiest, but believe in each individuals right to choose and believe in their own choices. I do not believe in pushing religion onto anyone, and if people push their's onto me, a heated argument is sure to ensue. I've made my educated (aka, read up on many religions, and what they are about) decision and no one has the right to tell me I am wrong (as well as I have no right to tell others they are wrong).

Animal rights, evolution vs. creationism, stem-cell research. I think that animals should be treated well and not killed for sake of vanity, yes, but I do not believe that everyone should stop eating meat and outlaw animal experimentation. If you need proof of the meat thing, look in the mirror. Humans have two meat-eater adaptations: eyes in the front of the head and sharp canines. I REALLY hate getting in a battle between a 'PETA supporter' who is only vegan, but will gladly buy fur (there is actually a girl at my school like that) or who eats meat. Dumb hypocrisy. Evolution vs. Creationism. Urg. The closed minded-ness kills me. Stem-cell research/genetics. This is some awesome stuff with amazing potential! How can anyone be against this?

Animal Rights: Super against racing and animal testing may i ask why you're against racing? i presume you mean something like greyhound racing. i've chosen animal rights and religion. animal rights is actually mostly because i can't stand the people trying to be all STOP BEING CRUEL TO THE ANIMALS when actually, they don't know anything about the case. at crufts, you usually get animal rights people gathering round saying how wrong and cruel it is.. when it's a pathetic way to go about it, when in particular this show does agility, flyball, obedience, heelwork to music, rescue, caniX, and the whole best friend thing - not just showing. also sorry, but vegetarians (because of the animal aspect - all up for it if you don't actually like meat). i won't get into it incase i offend anyone but i don't and never have seen the point. and i seem to find that most people who are very close to animals and are very committed to them eat meat, where as those who see animals as cute and fluffy generally don't. just make sure you buy your meat from the correct place, don't stop eating it all together religion because no one will ever agree, and i'm clearly alone here but i don't give a sh*t as to how the earth was created -- i'm here now and i'd like to live my life. i don't care much for science either, i don't have unanswered questions and i'd just like to get on with it.
