Haha! Yes, it's easy to get heated about those things For me, #1 is religion, because so many other things that get me heated stem out of it (i.e. abortion, gay rights, stem cells, evolution vs intelligent design, wars...). In my opinion, it's the root of a LOT of evil and problems in the world. Don't get me started ;D I could have picked just about anything else, but my other choices are evolution/intelligent design (that really gets me going), and stem cells research (oh boy... I have such a hard time understanding people who are against it, I'd better shut it right now )

My main one would have to be the environment, though I can get heated about others. And yes, I'm a tree hugger. Have you hugged your tree today? Now, one of my favorite things to do is sit inside the natural history museum and argue both sides of the evolution vs creationism. It's just too much fun for me.

I'm with Rebel on Wars and Immigration. I also picked Religion. I think that people shouldn't have to HAVE a religion. I also think that if their religion happens to be a minority or against someone else's beliefs that they shouldn't be nagged at or made fun of. I have no religion, and if I ever decide I want one I'll pick on my own beleifs and not because someone came knocking on my door trying to "save" me. It just makes me mad when someone asks me what I believe and I tell them "I will live and I will die" and they try to enroll me in their church or act offended that I don't believe in what they do. Watched an episode of "Wife Swap" once, there was a Christian fanatic who swapped with a family that beleive more in Astrology and stuff. Once the Christian lady got home from her week in the other household and found out her kids had actually liked the lady even though she wasn't Christian, she went berserk and started screaming "SHE ISNT CHRISTIAN!" and "I AM A GOD WARRIOR" and kicked the camera crews out. People like that get me heated real quick. You may believe what you want, and I'll let you, but let me believe what I want.

Animal Rights: I greatly dislike PETA but I am all for the humane treatment of animals. Don't kick your dog OK? I get VERY VERY VERY angry when people cry 'abuse' when they have no idea what they are talking about... AND I get equally angry when someone starves, beats, neglects, does any harm to an animal.
Religion: -_-; So much to be said... I think when people dwell to much on religion they become close minded and ignorant. There is more than one way to live a good life and I will ignore anyone who forces me to believe other wise. You force it down my throat.. I'll retaliate. I do believe that people should be free to worship whom ever they please.. as long is no one is harmed in the process (human or animal). I suppose evolution goes along with this too.. I won't get into it as I don't want to make people angry.. XD
Gay Rights: WHO CARES IF THEY WANT TO BE WITH THE SAME GENDER!? Why does it need to be such a big issue! If two people are in love and devoted to one another then why can't they marry? Yes, Religion again.. -_-; I'm all for gay rights.

I know you can only choose three options, but I'm going to state Four. Abortion: I'm really on the fence with that topic. I mean, yeah, it does sound a bit bad ( killing a life), but what if they were raped? No, what if they were raped between the ages of 12-16? That's not fair that they have to suffer giving birth, but it isn't their fault. I don't think it should be illegal(if it is...) Animal rights: I think people torture animals is because they feel threatened by people in general and have the need to feel superior. Their next option, animals, because they can't call out for help like humans. Animals can not speak, so people easily torture them for various reasons. I hate people who torture animals. Gay rights: Anyone ever heard of the saying, "Love is Blind"? It has various meanings, but it shouldn't matter if you love the same sex (I'm not gay, but I'm speaking for the people who are afraid to "come out") They should be respected equally as "straight" people. Just Let Them Be!Religion: I hate this topic the most! I am an...well, an atheist. I guess that's what I am considered. I call myself "non-religious", but people say I am an Atheist so, I go with it. I am afraid to tell people this because I always here them(people at my school) say how horrible they are and they are going to *h*e*l*l*. That hurts, I mean they don't know that place even exists. Plus, like what Ratqueen said, it is the center of everything. Every wondered what a world would look like without it? (things to think about) Sorry if I offended anyone. I feel good on my inputs. EDIT;; Jewellz, you took the words out of my mouth for your religion response.

I'm pro-life, so I'm generally against abortion (and the death penalty), though I think in some cases there should be leniency. I do value life highly and believe it should be protected as much as possible (and that goes for animals and plants too.) But people also should not criticize women for those tough decisions, whether it be to keep or abort; they should be supported and helped through it. For example, when I was little, my mom had a tubal pregnancy. My aunt accused her of having an abortion - she obviously didn't, but even if she did, there was a 1-year old that needed her mother. If it came down to the mother living or the mother dying and two babies left without mothers (and the baby, being premature, might not make it either), abortion may be the only reasonable option.

Gay rights is the big one for me, but then animal rights and religion too. There are a bunch of others I'm passionate about also.

the three i chose were gay rights, animal rights, and religion.
i hate how people try to force their views on others and kill for it. i feel that people should have the right to marry who ever they want, who to worship, to have an abortion etc.
people should just be able to have a choice... isn't it the right as free people??
^^ i hope this isn't heated or anything. :-)

I chose Gay Rights, Religion, and Evolution vs. Intelligent Design, though Gay Rights is the only one I get obviously heated about.
I am 100% gay rights. Because the precentor at my church has a male civil partner does not mean he is any less human than anyone else, and so less deserving of the right to sit at his hospital bedside when he is sick. Because a male writer for a sex column I adore has a husband instead of a wife does not mean he should be denied an answer when he asks the vet if his son's dog died yet (true story, dog survived, but it was the husband (who was freaking otu because he thought the accident was his fault) had to be the one to ask, and not the more level-headed Dan).
Because my favorite professor might have been gay is no reason why the college should not have alerted the ENTIRE campus of his sudden death (at 42? 45? Waaaay too young) instead of just 7 students, most of whom had recently graduated and so weren't expecting to see him n the fall. ESPECIALLY when the college was the thing that had stressed him to the point of his sudden death! Grrr! (sorry if that's too heated, but it just happened last summer and I'm still furious with them) T_T
Religion... I hate it. I do. My favorite place in the world is a Cathedral, and I am, in fact, trying to become a verger there, but I can't stand religion. It gives people excuses for stupidity and bad behavior and cruelty. I am a very spiritual person, but I believe all the organized religions I've ever heard of have a few things wrong, at least. Still, they're different ways that the something more that's out there is trying to touch us. Jesus, Mohammad, Buddha, the Greek Pantheon (hoo boy, were THEY a mess! ~loves on them~), the spirituality of the native Americans... all of those are equally valid.
And you're not going to hell. Psshh. If my something else I identify as God to make it easier on everyone would ever cast someone into firey pits to be tortured, there's no way I'm gonna keep worshipping and praising it. No way in (hee) hell.
And Evolution vs. Intelligent Design... why can't they both be right? If the earth was created in 7 days... how do you know what a god-day is? I mean, even a human 'year' is not a set thing. How do you measure a day when there are no humans around to care? I believe you should give people all sides of the argument (this and others similar) and let them decide for themselves. Give them the tools to make up their own mind, let them create the answer that satisifies them.

Euthanasia, Gay rights and Religion.
Personally I think, if someone is dying and in severe pain, they should be allowed to end it. If it's hurting you, shouldn't you be allowed your peace? If I was in severe pain whilst dying I would want to end that pain. No-one deserves to be told that if you are in pain, you have to deal with it without anything good happening at the end.
With gay rights, everyone is allowed to love, how come people think it matters if two people have the same gender they can't love each other? I don't really understand :/
As for religon, I personally am a satanist but, no-one ever bothers to listen to what I think about my religion. I don't think that satan IS a bad person, just that hell is a jail where you go for each sin. e.g. If you kill someone you spend 10 years in hell and such. If you're good there, you get a good next life, if you're bad, you get a bad next life.

Animals rights [and the respect and humane treatment animals deserve].
Oh, man. I won't even go into it. It's ... AH. For example, my Civics classes reaction to the turkey abuse we had here in WV (in which the turkeys had their heads smashed in and the like): "HA! They're just turkeys." :D *insert laughter*
And everyone thought it was so freaking hysterical when a fawn got stuck in our baseball field, was scared out of her wits, and bloodied her face all to hell trying to escape and return to her waiting mother. Short story is she tried to jump the fence and didn't make it. Took her over half and hour to get out. FUNNY STUFF. >_____>
It's only a matter of time before I get more "I squashed a kitten!" comments and I knock someone's ever-loving lights out (or atleast try).
Another thing that gets me going is Religion. :P Won't go into it.

Abortion, Animal Rights, and Religion is what I voted.
Abortion: I'm all for abortion, as I know many people whom have gotten pregnant and had to drop out of school to work at Mcdonalds in hopes of one day a management position will open up. The parents end up splitting, court costs, child support, and both parents struggling to get bye. What kind of life is that for a kid? Personally if I wanted to ever have a baby I would never want that child to have to suffer through visiting daddy every other weekend and worried where they were going to be able to eat or not tomorrow. What kind of life is that for the parents? More importantly what kind of life is that for a child? I could go on for ages about this lol so I'll stop right now.
Animal Rights: So much has already been said, and omg Zekumi I feel the same exact way... I'd so help you in beating those people who thought those things were funny... either way I'm all for animal rights, the idea that animals DO have souls, they do have feelings (which this uh PERSON, i'm being nice here, in my first semester of college tried to tell me they do not). I am also a firm believer in not breeding animals that in no way are a good representation of their breed no matter the species. This goes for horses as much as dogs, I can't say how angry it makes me to see people breeding horses because " Sally is a pinto! " and " 'Ol Jimbob here is a stallion so why not? " That gets me REALLY going. With the quality of the equine industry at this point and PAPERED horses with good bloodlines selling for $50.00 at the auction about 35 min from here... thats cause enough to say " oh, maybe I ought to not breed sally ". I won't even go into conformation, the deliberate breeding of Halter Quarter Horses to have tiny feet that can't possibly support their weight simply because it looks good...
Relegion: I don't think I need to say anything here Ratqueen said it all, but for the sake of my opinion I believe everyone should have a choice, the point of living here in America. " Land of the Free " I should have a choice, and so should everyone else.

Abortion, Drug legalization, and Environment. I'm a tree hugger, too, Selena. Haha. Abortion I guess is the touchiest subject with me.
On the whole, I disagree with abortion. I feel that it is a woman's responsibility to reap the consequences of her actions (and also the baby's father). I didn't have sex until I knew positively that if something should happen and I got pregnant (even though I took extreme measures not to and used every contraceptive method available, lol), I would be able to emotionally and financially provide for another human. I think one of the reasons I've always been a sexually responsible person is that a friend of mine got pregnant as a teenager and wanted an abortion. She was too scared to tell her parents and waited until just before the "cut off" (3 months along) to get the pregnancy terminated. That angers me extremely. She was old enough to make a child, but not old enough not to -be- a child and at least have it terminated earlier/go through with the pregnancy? There are so many families out there that are infertile and would give anything to adopt a healthy child. Adoption is -always- an option. Furthermore, there are enough people in the world and everyone should just stop breeding (lol).
I definitely think there are always cases where abortion is necessary. Rape, of course or if something was so wrong with the baby that it could be determined that it would never have a chance at any sort of enjoyable life. That is why I think abortion should never be completely outlawed. That would be wrong. But for the young girls that just decide they're "grown" enough to have relations, but not to be parents, I really think this needs to stop. Abortions have become a routine thing-like plastic surgery. Boobs sagging? Snip and tuck. Bun in the oven? Snip and suck. It's just wrong, I'm sorry.
