okay, so to preface this: please treat me like an idiot. I love modding games, and I am so so so bad at it. I don't understand coding at all, but I always want to try. I'm very very sorry.
Now: I'd really like to make a couple of toys (the scratching post, the oasis potted plant) immovable, or at least less bumpable, so that they don't get knocked around as easily. (They don't need to be perfectly static, although that is the goal.) I'm following gyiyg 's tutorial as best I can, but I have no idea what I'm looking at.
First question: I assume the values that would need to be modified are mass (the 5th adjective down the list, according to the tutorial), friction (no. 6), and bounce (no. 22). Is that correct?
Second question: how do I interpret the "IDA-View A" table? The tutorial says,
First I thought, "okay, so I need to count X number of [mov]s down", but the number of [mov]s doesn't correspond to how many adjectives there are. The number of [push ##], [eax ##], and [add ##] entries also doesn't correspond, and in the tutorial image, there are some [eax ##] lines that are skipped.
there will be a table showing the opcodes and the values they use in order. for single-byte values, it'll just be the first number you want to change (the second number is just the ID of which value it is.
Even going into the cheese toy that the tutorial is hexing, I can't figure out how to count down to find the adjective I want.
I think what I'm asking is, "How do I tell where one opcode ends and the next begins?" and "What do I do when the number of opcodes in the list isn't the same as the number of adjectives given in the tutorial (ie, there are more or less than 32 of them)?"
I'm sure there's about 17 more questions after that, but I don't know what they are when I can't even figure out what I'm looking at.
tl;dr help
