Winter sales 2022: which games are you getting?

For starters, a friend surprised me by gifting me one of my top wishlist's wishes, even though it's barely on sale and quite expensive IMO: PowerWash Simulator! I know, I know, doesn't that sound silly for a game? But it has an overwhelmingly positive rating and I now understand why! This game is so well-made and perfect for relaxing (which is EXACTLY what I need, especially right now!), and very satisfying for the mildly-OCD folks like me I LOVE IT!!! I've already played it for almost 10 hours since I got it a few days ago, which says a lot, and I can HIGHLY recommend it if you're in need of relaxation !

I offered myself 4 Planet Zoo DLCs I was missing as their prices dropped to their lowest on various sites (Instant Gaming and Fanatical): Europe, Wetlands, Conservation, and Twilight. I didn't get the latest Grasslands one yet, as it wasn't cheap enough (well, it was for a moment on Instant Gaming, but I hesitated too long and then they ran out of keys, and then they brought it back but not as cheap).

With my Christmassy Steam wallet refilled (gift from my partner John), I already got the last 2 House Flipper DLCs I was missing (one of my fave games for relaxing!), namely the Luxury and HGTV DLCs. Love 'em, just as I knew I would. I got the Pets DLC in the Autumn sale, and love it as well.

Even though he's already given me my Christmas gifts, my partner John bought us Splendor last night, a board game that we've enjoyed on the iPad, and now we can Remote Play it Together on the PC. I've added it to the multiplayer game list I'm keeping here on RKC.

I bought Cat Quest II on Fanatical when it got real cheap. Love to play it with John! (we use the Remote Play Together feature, which works well).

Now, with what's left in my Steam Wallet, I'm hesitating between the following games:

Raft
I am DYING to get this one, an open-world survival-craft, even though I wish the discount was a little better than their usual 33% off... I think I will have to include this one, because I know I'm going to love it! It can be played co-op, too! I love the premise, love the way it looks, love all the various things that you can do, AND it has an overwhelmingly positive rating!

2 DLCs for Parkitect
I've been waiting FOREVER for this game's DLC to have a better discount, holding off finishing the game's campaign because of it, but it's always the same discount! So, okay, I'll finally get those two DLCs even thought they're way overpriced. I'll bet they will get cheaper as soon as I own them!!

Let's Build a Zoo + its Dinosaur Island DLC (as a bundle, cause of the extra bundle discount)
I adore the way it looks -- those colorful pixel graphics are delightful and right up my alley! I also like the idea of splicing different breeds of animals together. BUT... I'm reading some reviews about glitches, user interface imperfections, missing/badly-thought out features... and the late game becoming too repetitive and boring. Soooo... I'm still on the fence about this one, even though I want it really bad in theory.

The Planet Crafter

I've been interested in this game since the beginning. It looks very interesting to me (I love sci-fi), love the colorful graphics and open-worldness of it, the theme, everything... BUT it's still in Early Access (which I try not to buy) and it's only 20% off (even though the price will get higher when it's out of Early Access, I hear). I will probably wait a little longer for this one.

Megaquarium and its DLC
I was thinking of getting this game and its DLC, but it was cheaper in the Autumn sale, so I'm scratching this one off my Christmas shopping.

I've also just got the missing DLC from planet zoo(minus grasslands) and JWE (minus Malta). got a message from frontier saying they were going to be in sale in the newsletter.

I want to get house flipper pets DLC.

I REALLY WANT RAFT! I may just splurge xD 

Powerwash sim is one on the top of my wishlist too, i love any game like this like house flipper. Satisfying games.

And the last I want is Rimworld.

I've not played much PC the last few months as I've been playing a lot of switch with Pokemons release. I've picked up a few games over the months I really need to play!

Whenever a steam sale comes around I tend to be 1 of 2 extremes. I either have like zero games I can think of and want, or have a ton. During the summer sale it was the latter, this time it’s the former lol!

I’m interested in the game Escape Academy. An escape room puzzle game. I’m also interested in the Rusty Lake puzzle series. My dad got me a steam gift card so assuming they’re at their best sale price, I’ll buy the Rusty Lake games I’m missing!

Also not mentioned but if anyone likes murder mystery games, I highly recommend The Case of the Golden Idol. It should be on sale right now. I can go on and on about it but I loved everything about it omg. 10/10

I don’t think I have any of the ones you’re interested in Ratqueen. I haven’t kept up with the Planet Zoo DLC and Megaquarium and Let’s Build a Zoo are two I’m interested in too as well.

Star ★ So I did end up buying Raft and I love it!! I'm playing in peaceful mode, so as to not be attacked every few minutes and all (I always try to find ways to play in a more relaxed way), and it's very much everything I was hoping for! I haven't started the story per se (you get to spend some time building yourself and your raft up before starting the story, which is nice), and I'm having so much fun! Very much worth it! <3

I'm really enjoying the new building set in the Planet Zoo Conservation DLC the most! So green and beautiful! I'm going to use this one more than any others, I think! I also love the Przewalski horses that come with it!!

I've also bought something that I didn't think I was going to get this time around, but I got a $1 voucher from Fanatical, so I decided to use it on this very much wanted game: SuchArt: Genius Artist Simulator. I had played the demo a while back and loved it, and there are so many more surprises in the full game! I've only unlocked a few things so far, but it's such a unique and relaxing game! I've seen you have it on your wishlist, RebeccaMonkey , so I thought I'd let you know it really is wonderful if you like a very creative/freeform, and truly out-of-this-world game!

Ratqueen I’m glad to hear suchart is good! I think I’ll look into that one more during the summer sale!

Also another game suggestion for people: Toem!! It’s a little under $7, normally $20. They just did a big update too.  It’s an amazing game and I loved it - you complete tasks that have to do with taking pictures yet the tasks still have a lot of variety! It’s cute and fun.

Anyway, as the steam sale is ending I finally bought a few games.  I got a gift card for Christmas and narrowed my list down.
The ones I almost bought:
- Escape Academy - I’ll probably finish Escape Simulator first
- A Little to the Left - I can see myself liking this or getting super frustrated
- Dave the Diver - I just heard of this game the other day and it has great reviews.  You run a restaurant and also go diving for fish to serve. There’s boss fights and interesting dialogue.  Looks in depth and like all the aspects of the game are really good.  I just don’t want to play it just yet and it wasn’t on sale anyway

Onto the ones I bought! 
- The Rusty Lake games bundle - I have a few of their games so I got the puzzle games I was missing.  One is co-op (The Past Within) if anyone else wants to play it together
- Ghostbutter bundle - Ghostbutter is the developer name.  It’s 2 games, one of which is some picture taking one called Penko Park I wanted to try
- Lil Gator Game - I just heard of this one and admittedly it’s not on sale, but since I had a gift card I got it.  It looks super cute and has great reviews.  It reminds me a bit of A Short Hike with Legend of Zelda influences; you play as a little gator trying to have fun!

How are you liking Raft so far? I'm about halfway through the story already.
