Would you want everybody and their grandma to be suddenly into Petz like they were for Pokemon Go? Or are you more into a small, close-knit community? I'd love to read why people picked the answer they chose so please reply!

No! I'd like Petz to be more popular so the community would be more active and more varied. I feel like I missed out on some of the fun things from its heyday, like forums just for sports.
I wouldn't want it to be wildly popular like Pokemon Go, though. Big fandoms/communities are really overwhelming to me. I also like the demographic we currently have, where most people are adults. If there's any drama currently going on, it must be quiet and not have spilled into the open because I don't know about it. There's a different level of maturity and I appreciate that.

I like the size of the PC right now, I feel like it’s possible to have the sense that you “recognize” everyone and people can have their own distinct niche or trademarks. If it got super huge it would all be a confusing mess of drama!

i prefer smaller communities because it's less overwhelming to interact with. i don't mind when there's a little influx of new members, though, i do like sharing with new people, haha

I prefer it to be a small, niche community now! It's more cozy, easier to keep up with, less overwhelming, etc. Although, it was really fun back in the old days when it was super popular too ^^

I would! I've never really been a part of a massive phenomenon and I'd like to be an early adopter in a cultural phenomenon for once instead of a dork with weird interests xD
Oh wait never mind I was into Animal Crossing before it was cool xDDD

I’d make it a little more popular, having new people every so often is fun! But I’d definitely not make it wildly popular!
I like the small communities where people kind of know each other. With big communities, I feel like there’s much more drama and more, idk, cliques? Since not everyone knows each other I feel like there’s always a few popular/more-known people instead haha. Plus, I feel like when things get popular people decide to hate the thing just because they’re sick of seeing it, and I don’t want petz to get hate or called cringe or whatever. Right now, whenever someone writes an article or makes a video on petz, the comments are typically “oh I used to play and love this game as a kid! This is so nostalgic.” So I feel like the PC being small kinda keeps that nostalgic love for petz alive, idk.
TL;DR I wouldn’t want the drama of a big community xD or the lack of closeness/recognition of members.

Oh I totally would! I wouldn't like the drama etc that comes with that but I think what would happen is that we'd just branch out and have smaller niches to fit into so it would end up being fine. I'd really welcome more people with different talents to contribute in new and different ways... More sites to join, more ideas etc. I can imagine people creating new versions of PUGS and TFM that would have different qualities, perhaps more show automation could become a thing... So yeah, I'd brave the bad bits for the sake of the benefits I imagine would come with a larger community.

I love being able to recognise people just from being on the same 2-3 forums but I feel like I missed out on a lot of things like forums for dog sports and the like. More people would (hopefully) mean more varied activities and things to do in the community, which would be really fun.

I wouldn't make it instantly hugely popular (because I think it'd be a bit chaotic, lol) but slow, sustainable community growth? I'm all for that, though I don't know how to make that happen really. It's great seeing people find their way back to the petz community and even a few new people discover it for the first time, but at the same time, I'm sure that's balanced out by other people drifting away. I'm trying to do my bit to keep the community thriving but I have to admit I do fear it'll shrink over time. I'm loving how active the shows/events etc are right now, it really feels like people are still enthusiastic about the games!
Definitely miss how vast the petz community used to be, how there were so many sites that I could never hope to check them all, so much content being released, but having said that, back then I just used to lurk. I'm more comfortable participating in smaller communities, so perhaps the size of the PC right now is a good fit. It would be nice if there were more people breeding/adopting out, though! A bigger variety of lines, plus people's unique styles (even talking about bred petz, not just hexies), the rarer OBs getting more love, specialist purebred lines, 'famous' lines, etc would all add interest! Still, right now I kind of like that I have an idea of what type of pet or what element of community participation each of us is into; there's a nice familiarity about it.

I'd like it more popular than it is now, though I am amazed at how long the community has lasted for a game that started in the 1990's.
Something closer in popularity to how it was years ago would be good though.

Part of me wants to say yes, but I do enjoy us having our small community where a lot of us recognize one another around the forums. I'd like it to be a little more popular because Petz and the community has a lot to offer and enjoy IMO. I tell people about it from time to time because it brings me a lot of joy, and it's way better than any modern virtual pet sim I can think of. I was born in 2001, but Petz is a big reason why I feel like a '90s kid at heart and wonder how cool it would have been to have gotten into Petz when it was at its peak popularity. It's still an awesome community, it's just sometimes I wonder what I missed out on, ya know? xD
