so i was poking around in some of the playscenes with LNZ pro, and i noticed when i was looking at the Travel playscenes, the LNZ for the host characters is actually inside the playscenes themselves, so i got to thinking, if you hexed a playscene with one of those as a base, could you potentially make your own playscene with your own custom hosts?
short answer, yes! the pet depicted here (besides Damien) is Flora, who is a pig i edited just a little (and put a hat on) and placed in the file just to test out if she'd appear. and she did, with some rather extensive editing of what things were named internally with the hex editor (although most of them you can Find + Replace just fine)
this is the other host, Party Roach, who also works fine the only problem i've noticed is they don't have any sounds, but i'd imagine that's probably fixable with some more fiddling
this is a pretty barebones playscene, since i just threw it together real quick to see if this was possible, but i'm excited for what else might be possible like this (maybe i could make an underwater playscene sometime with a shrimp as one of the hosts, hm...)

What an awesome discovery! I want to get more into making playscenes and this opens so many new possibilities.

it's a little complicated to get working, but it opens up a pretty exciting extra customization area, and it'd be a pretty fun way to share hexed petz or just ones you might want to show off too ::P
i think i figured out the sound issue: whichever playscene you use as a base, any host characters you put in will automatically take on the personality from whatever breed the original host characters from that playscene were (ex. a custom host in the cat slot in a playscene built off the Wild West will always have an Alley Cat personality), and putting in LNZ there that specifies a breed that uses different sounds will result in a mute host character. i'm not sure if there's a way to change that or not, but you can get around it by just using a pet with the same personality as the host of whatever playscene you're using as a base if possible (or if you want to make a host with a specific personality, use a playscene that has a pet with that personality as a base if there is one)
