So for the past couple of weeks, I've been working on this breeding project to create of likeness of the Dobermann breed using only the default breeds in Petz 5. It's been going pretty well, and I feel like I'm reaching the final stretch. I just need a final opinion on which markings/body shapes look best before I finalize everything. I'm deciding between triangular vs hanging ears, full muzzle markings vs partial muzzle, and stocky body vs skinnier body, mostly. In addition, I have a red variant currently in the gene pool, since there are red Dobies in real life. Just let me know which dog has your favorite look, and how you feel about the red. Feel free to leave any additional comments/ideas in a reply, too! I really appreciate the input! Here are some sample dogs: Dog 1 Dog 2 Dog 3 Dog 4
And a sample of the red color: EDIT: I derped a little on the poll, please just ignore the option that's a repeat of the question!

I think I like body type on dog 2 with the leaner tucked up and angled legs, but the head from dog 3. Since they have natural tails I think I'd go more for the natural ears, unless you can get a docked variant in there somehow from the bulldog?

Thanks for the input! I really kept waffling on the ears because, like you implied, if I'm going to have an undocked tail, then undocked ears would be more consistent. But I wasn't sure if the pointy ears were too... iconic, I guess? to do away with. Then again, the chest spots they have are iconic, too, and I didn't even bother trying to recreate them, heh. The Bulldog is a good idea for a variant, though, and could provide a shorter "docked" tail, too, if I decide to try that route!

I dont think petz has the option for a tan chest spot TBH. Those usually are hexed on paintballz in breeds, unless it was just a solid tan chest patch but even then I don't think any of the OBs has that, and I don't think paintballz mutate? I could be mistaken though xD

Yeah, the only way I could even think to do it is to, say, get Dalmatians with spots exactly and only where I want them, somehow breed the spots to brown, and make sure they pass down every generation along with the other features I wanted... and well, I’m not that much of a masochist, by any means.

Really lovely models here, I personally picked 4 for its balance of petz style and realism. The red variation is a good alternate colour to the default, but a brown and tan recolour of the original black and tan might make the red variation more distinctly "Doberman".

Ack, sorry for the late reply, but thank you so much for the input! I've been surprised at how people seem to prefer the fully brown muzzle, but I guess you're right that it's more "petzy" so that's probably what I'll go with! I could probably breed a brown variant in, but it'd be a teensy hard, being about 8 gens in already! I may just keep black/brown and red/brown as the options for ease at this point, since I just intend it to be a selective breed.
