I finaaaaally got my old copy of Petz 5 working on my mac, so I wanted to try the thing I never did as a kid, which was hexing. Goofed about a bit in Petz Workshop and here's the results: Her name is Gruguus and needless to say I love her with my whole entire heart :''') I hope to learn a lot more about hexing, but I had two main questions. First, is there no undo button or shortcut? Would certainly help with all the mistakes I foresee myself making. Second, is there a method to choosing an offset number for a new breed or do you just choose one at random and hope for the best? Is there a registry somewhere with all the taken offset numbers? Is there somewhere I can check for the offset numbers of existing breedz in LNZ pro? Would really appreciate some help from y'all folks, so if you care to enlighten me then thank you!

Since this didn't get an answer yet, I'll just say...no, I don't believe there is an Undo button, but yes I agree there SHOULD be. xP Hexing is all trial and error...you can't learn how to hex flawlessly without making mistakes to learn from. There's just too many things that can, and will, go wrong. Buuut when it's you who made a simple misclick...there should so be an easy fix for that. Because hexing is hard enough without that. xDD And I don't know about your second question. I would assume another no, because I imagine some people alter offset numbers. At least, I do. :X I have a ton...a TON...of external breedfiles in-game, and if ANYBODY shares a matching offset number...it can result in issues for the offspring of bred Petz from those files. To prevent it, I made sure none of them matched. I've heard of some other people doing that too. So I guess it varies depending on games? :\ I think this is another reason Overwrite breeds are so popular. They basically maintain the same name/number as a base breed. You just backup, say, your Dalmatian file somewhere safe. Then edit the existing Dalmatian to -look- how you want, but keep its' name and number the same. You adopt what you want from it, copy this hexed Dalmatian.dog somewhere safe, and replace your original Dalmatian.dog. Your hex will work without the breed, and your Adoption Center won't clog up with new files! xD It's pretty nice. (You do have to have the hexed Dalmatian.dog file in-game if you want the hexie to breed true, but you can switch them around whenever you want.) ...Was any of this helpful, or just late-night rambling? xDD Anyway, I love your unique little dog there! That's pretty fun!

CatCreature That is pretty helpful actually! I really never understood the appeal of overwriting breed files before but that definitely makes sense. And the lack of the undo is certainly something to get used to, but I'm grateful that PetzWorkshop exists at all really. Geez I can't even imaging trying to hex from the code alone without any real-time visual reference to what you're doing 8') ( Gruguus appreciates your love and support she's doing her best)
