I think I can ask this question here. I have windows 10 and I cant get P5 to work. I get this message when I try to install it.
An installation support file could not be installed. I get the same message for both dogz & catz. The one thing I don't get is that my P4 dogz & catz work perfectly fine.
Does p5 not work with windows10? Or is there something else going on and if so, does anyone have any idea(s) what or can help me?
Thank You

The only thing I can suggest is either running a virtual machine of a previous OS or running it in compatability mode.

My P5 works fine on Windows 10. I’m not on my PC right now, so I can’t check what (if anything) I did to make it work. It’s very likely I set its shortcut (in Properties) to “Run as Admin”, and maybe even some compatibility mode, I don’t remember off the top of my head. But I will check tonight, as I keep a log of all additions, modifications, uninstalls, and issues regarding my PC But of course, you are saying you’re having problem installing it. Which support file is it not able to install? Note that I did not install my P5 in the default directory, but installed it in C:/Petz — you might want to try that? Also, try to run the install program as Admin (right-click on the install file and select “Run as Admin”).

My P5 works fine on Windows 10 and I'm not using compatibility mode, a virtual machine or even 'run as an Administrator'.
However, there could be answers and solutions on Google as it seems this problem does not only apply to Petz 5 but to old games that require a disc. I also believe you didn't use a disc to install this game. From my research, P5 might be using "SafeDisc". This is a program that protect games from being copied.
But if you're indeed using a disc, then sorry, my bad.

I guess I should have said this in my original post but when I put the disc in for either of them C5 or D5 I first get the screen asking do you want to install or uninstall the game. So of course I click the button that's says install or uninstall then that message pops up. Its not the matter of it being installed and it wont start it just wont install in general. I never had problems with it when I had windows 95 and 97 with my other computers and P4 is working fine no problems. So I don't know why P5 is having problems.
