EDIT: Also, I'm not saying there's any issue with the P5 converter at all. Just wanted to make that clear. The converter did NOT do anything wrong. xD
So, luckily for me, this little story had a happy ending xD But it could have been really messy. I wanted to mention it, so other people might know what is going on if they have a similar issue...and just to share the hilariously baffling mystery I just experienced. xDD

So, like most everyone lately, I've been converting a bunch of my very old P5 Petz to P4. This little family, born in the early 2000's, were some of my favorites who simply had to be converted. Spinda has been one of my very favorite German Shepherd mixies...I LOVE her unique color scheme so much!! I'd forgot who her parents were...and no wonder, she really doesn't look a lot like them. xD These guys aren't very high gen mixies, but they mostly have P5 breeds in them, along with Lab and Mutt.
Actually, I believe their entire family consists of German Shepherd, Jack Russell Terrier, Pug, Lab and Mutt. Very simple, very straight-forward.
I decided, for old-time's sake...why not let them have another pretty puppy to be a sibling to Spinda? I let them have another. She was pretty, sure...but something was off. Trying to understand what was happening...I bred two more, which only got me MORE confused. Their last two weren't as unusual, but there's still something off...
First of all, there is not a single breed in their lines that would give them a drop-tail! Or those paintballs. Or those ears, or those narrow faces.
Your first logical thought would be, "Oh, LOL, someone left in an OW~" Haha-no. I checked, my sister Perichan watching me and trying to puzzle-solve with me...they're all natural breeds, nothing weird about any of them, none of them look remotely like this. I checked the breeds in-game, I double checked where I downloaded the P5 converted breeds from...nothing had this.
I even opened the whole family tree up...it's small enough it all fits on my screen, and there was nothing in there that made sense.
So I thought...maybe the German Shepherd file breeds funny?
Nope. German Shepherd file breeds like you'd expect!
But by the time I bred the pup called Idea...as his name suggests, an idea came to mind, and I finally figured out what had happened. After my sister and I bounced ideas back and forth, stared at the puppies, dug around on the site for the breedfiles used...we wondered over it for, I want to say 10-15 minutes before I figured out what had happened.
This could be tricky to explain, but I'll do my best.

Spinda was bred in early 2000's by the very original P5 German Shepherd breedfile.
The P4 converted German Shepherd file has a DIFFERENT ID number than that one. But since Spinda's parents still have the original P5 ID number 'blood' in them, they were still breeding with that ID number's genetics.
I opened the old P5 GS file in LNZPro, and found their ID number. I then opened the list of ID numbers I have for my breedfiles in P4, and matched it up...and I found where they were pulling their genetics from.
The breed on the RIGHT of this image. (The one on the left was my original suspect xD But that file's tail/ears don't move, and these guys' do.)
It was ADK's German Shepherd file!! The fact that is HAPPENED to be another German Shepherd file was total coincidence xDD
Now, normally when I have Petz with ID numbers that don't match their breedfiles like that, they won't work in-game. I don't know why these guys work, and breed...but they do, thankfully. (And I won't have to bother 🌠 Aubrey about it...but I'll tag her anyway to see the cute Dogz and more of Petz' funny mysteries xDD)
Anyway. This COULD have actually been very messy. Things would have broken if they were pulling from a cat's ID number, or like my sister suggested, something crazy like an elephant file, LOL!!
So if anyone has a ton of breedfiles in-game, and they convert any breedfile-required P5 Petz, and breed them in P4 with unmatching results...or if the game breaks when breeding them...do take into consideration that ID number conflicts might be the culprit. xDD
This was a fun random little mystery and surprise though, and I don't mind it, so long as it doesn't break anything. (I could always stick 'em in P5, breed them again, and bring their babies back to P4 if I wanted normal babies)
But I really like how the offspring turned out, so this was fun xDDD Befuddlement went to live with my sister, but the rest will stay here. Including the tester German Shepherds. xDD
Oh, and one more thing...
