So gamercat had a thread requesting a place for her doggie, Selina, to travel to. I think every doggie and kittie alike should have the chance to interact with wild animals, so I invited her over.
This was my very first time ever experiencing the poodle personality, and I was not disappointed. Selina was prim and proper and maybe even a little snooty, but she was very cute. Very vogue for sure.
I thought Selina might want to try out the foods that I keep at the sanctuary for the other animals. She was having none of it. Eventually, she nibbled on the fish. I'm assuming she held her breath and pretended it was low-grade caviar, but whatever gets you through.
Next I introduced her to my animals, and it didn't really go over too well. My animals aren't very sociable to begin with, I have no idea why, but there is always the possibility of a beautiful friendship...Barley wasn't too keen on Selina, which isn't very surprising. Barley is queen sass around here, and there isn't room for two.
Kenya and Selina didn't hit it off either. It was mostly a game of "who can ignore who?".
and so I went on and on, introducing Selina to the others. Pandas nor llamas appeased sweet Lina.
Bao Bao wanted nothing more but to hold down Selina and lick her, repeatedly. At one point Selina retaliated with a series of very angry licks. Pinyin, my goofiest panda, didn't understand what was happening half the time.
I then went on to some my of doggies, in hopes maybe sharing the same species might help things, but to no avail. The only dog who showed a good-hearted interest was dear Ophi, who took matters (literally) into his own teeth.
and so he carried Selina around in his mouth, occasionally sitting down to lick her obnoxiously. He was pretty proud of himself. Even though Selina spent a lot of her time off the ground with Ophi, they didn't hate each other. They slept near each other and had a beautiful night.
Selina rolled with pandas, rustled with leopards, and discovered a new (plush) species. I hope this trip is one she won't forget. <3
