Yup, I saw Meomi's adoption thread on RKC about rehoming this guy, and since I've gotten invested in the story, I had to apply for a chance to help him out.
It was late when he got here. Very late, so I fed him and let him get settled in, or so I thought. We moved into the family room after dinner so he could see the main room where he'd be meeting some other petz in the morning. Or so I thought until Hiccup came busting out of the pet door.
Hiccup: Hey, how come he gets to go on the furniture?
Me: Because I said it was OK.
Hiccup: Do I get to go on the furniture?
Me: No.
Bradley: So, what's your name?
Hiccup: Do you mind? I'm eating. >:c
Bradley: -mischevious smile- Oh, hello Eating.
Hiccup: Why you little-
Me: Okay! That's enough. Hiccup, why don't you go bed now. -pulls Hiccup away from Bradley and points him towards the pet door-
Even though they were snarling at each other, Bradley was still bummed out to be alone again.
Me: Well, I guess if Hiccup won't work out, there's always the possibility that his mother might make a good friend.
Bradley: Mother?
Me: Hey, watch yourself. She's spayed.
Me: Bradley, this is Elaine, Elaine, Bradley.
Elaine: Ooh! Are you taking pictures? Take mine! Take mine! -poses-
Bradley: Hey! She's not even paying attention to me! -growls-
Me: Sorry! I forgot that she lives for attention...From the camera.
Bradley: Who's this?
Me: You know, I'm not entirely sure. His nametag said Lightning, but I'd never seen or heard of him until yesterday.
Lightning: =)
Bradley: Should I be worried?
Lightning: >=D
Me: I would. Okay, fella, go home! Shoo!
Astrid: What's going on?
Me: -thinking- It's a little unlikely, but it just might work...?
Me: Hey, Astrid, have you met Bradley?
Astrid: Another dog?? Don't we have enough of them?
Me: Bradley, this is Astrid.
Bradley: You mean you're not afraid to wrestle with me?
Astrid: I'm not afraid of anything. Especially not dogs.
Bradley: Why not?
Astrid: Because I am better than all of you, and I know it.
Bradley: I don't think that's true.
Bradley: Okay maybe it is true.
Me: So Bradley, how does it feel to have a cat as a best friend?
Bradley & Astrid: -snoring-
Well, at least he found a friend who'll more or less put up with him.
