THK's Homeland Pride Tex THK's What Goes Around "Karma" THK's Expensive Tastes Crystal I thought that these three were doing pretty well, but I received some feedback that made me question. What needs to change on these two? Be honest. Be harsh. I can take constructive criticism.

All look like great poses to me! Personally, I like the second the best, simply for only being able to see one eye, plus both the back and nose is straight. Some of this is judges preference I believe. I think some like the pet to be looking more straight forward rather than the head/nose being level. I think that the head alignment is just a tad off on the Tex pose, would like to see is just a little bit more toward the camera like Crystal's is. Again, just personal preference. All are very solid. =)

Thank you for the feedback. I really appreciate it! I'll work on Tex a bit more for sure. He's a feisty one.

There are a few things that bother me about these poses. First, here is a very helpful link for learning about good dog poses. northernpaws.heart.nu/TPPG/dogz.html Tex: what stands out the most is his tail. Dogz tails are supposed to be curled over the back as much as possible. Tex's tail is barely curved. he also seems to be at a low breathing point, making him look a bit slouched. You want the dog at its highest breathing point, with head high and chest out. His head is also out of alignment. Karma: his tail is better, but still lacks curve. Something that bothers me though is his neck. It looks unnaturally long/bent. It almost appears as if he's over posing. Does he have an unusual neck or the normal dachie neck? If he has a normal dachie neck then he is over posing, which is a DQ (and it might explain why his tail wasn't curled at time of photo). The link above gives a good example of a normal dachie in a dane pose, note the short neck. if his neck is naturally long/weird then ignore this part lol. his head however is perfect. perfect alignment and his legs are pretty good too. Crystal: this is the best of the three poses and the only one I would place. Her leg alignment is good, her tail is good, her head is a little off alignment though. but that's the only thing. Hope this helps remember to get those long tails curved towards the back as much as possible.
