Coming up with good names for my catz in shows is hard. Most people name their catz after food items, like cookies or cream or cheese. Or after galaxies, stars and planets. I use many of the default breeds rather than the mixed breeds and they seem to stand out less. I'm pretty sure when there's a tie and hosts can't decide which catz is best, they use the show name to help pick a winner. I have a persian calico mix with calico eyes and a fluffy persian tail. I haven't got all my breeds to pose yet, so I can't post pictures yet.

I have the same problem... I think this is why I haven't entered any shows yet. :/

I watch a lot of episodes of various tv shows on netflix instant download and rent a lot of the same discs, so I tend to use the names of the episodes for show names.
Ex: Gotham's One Sees, The Other Doesn't, Insanity/Gotham's The Man In The SUV
If they're extremely special to me, I'll probably use a name that's a quote from a show or movie.
Ex: Gotham's Cause She's Doing The Oompa-loompa With Two Guys, Gotham's You Want Fun? Date A Cop

I have never heard of a judge that uses the shownames to determine which pet places higher...it should be all about the pose when judging a conformation show. Allignment and breed specific traits.
Placing someone who was able to come up with a clever showname, but with a bad pose above someone else who did manage to allign their pet correctly just sounds really unfair to me.
If it so happens that I have two A+ poses in one of my shows, I usually base my judging on the breed. Say there's a perfect Calico and a perfect Tabby pose, I'd probably place the Calico above the Tabby, because Calico's are harder to pose (eyelids and all that^^). Most of the time I don't even look at the shownames...I just copy/ paste them in the right placementxD haha.

It's pretty easy for me to pick show names. I go with what the pet looks like, then relate that to a place, item, etc. Then I like to add another word or phrase after that. Some of mine are simple, others are quite long. Here are a few of my simpler ones with explainations (but no pics of the petz, sorry):
KX's Cosmic Love Named after the crescent that is on her hip, like space. She's very sweet, so I chose love to show how much she loves me, more than the area of outer space.
KX's La Llorona La Llorona means 'The Weeping Lady' in Spanish. My sister read a book with a character called Llorona in it, so it inspired me to create this name.
KX's Ace of Spades Spades are one of the black card types in a regular deck of playing cards. She had no spots, sorta like a single spade. Therefore she is an ace.
KX's Russian Revolution I recently read Animal Farm, a book based on the Russian revolution into Communism. Plus the two Rs sound nice together c:
KX's Galactic Glory The sister of Cosmic Love, I like to make things streamline and similar between siblings.
KX's In The Beginning I just came up with this out of the blue, it sounds pretty xD

Pretty much the same for what most people do - just google your petz name meaning and add a creative touch and slam it up as a show name =P
