I wanted to make sure that I'm on top of things in the shows that I judge because I'd like to get fairly active in showing again and since it's been a few months before coming back to it this summer, I wanted to double-check myself a little bit and make sure that I'm on top of things/don't mis-judge anything. So I thought i'd ask:
* What is your personal method for judging catz poses against each other? (do you look at specific faults first? for example, I usually eliminate poses that are very obviously un-aligned first)
* For MPCs/calicos, does some one have a picture of a calico that is PERFECTLY aligned? I know they have that little mass behind their feet but sometimes I have the feeling some people have a little too much, or not enough there and that's something I feel really picky about sometimes since alignment is such a big thing to me.
* Calico eyelids: I know that it's preferable for them to be even, but is there a over-all general preference about just how even they are? I usually rank perfectly straight lids over those that are not straight and slightly angled, however if they're angled and perfectly even then I feel as though they're pretty close to one another, etc
* What do you do in the case of having a bunch of poses that all have no faults? Sometimes I consider the difficulty of posing the breed, however that is potentially different from person to person too. When you have multiple poses with no faults what do you do to set them apart?
* Do you typically ask for the breed personality of a pet? I just feel that it makes a difference when judging eyelids, etc. However sometimes I forget to ask this and I know it's not always common that it's in the form/requested information so I wasn't sure how much people take that into an account when it's definitely possible/happens that catz have the appearance of one breed and the personality of another.
Thanks for your help <3 Just some things I've been thinking about when entering the ring again/judging shows and thought I'd get some feedback/2nd opinions on.
