(Be warned, I'm not a native english speaker but I hope you can read it)
I don't like "introduce yourself" thread, but I didn't want to simply popping out of nowhere, asking questions 'n stuff so...
Hi there!
My name is Janine and I'm from germany.
My first petz games where dogz+catz2 in the mid 90's, along wiht some other games about virtual pets and AI.
(Yes, I consider petz a game about AI with the option to toy around with genetics like in the "Creatures" games. It's not a simple pet simulation game to me.)
Since that, I'm a huge fan, although I haven't played Petz for about ... 6? years or something like this. No wonder since I'm already 24 *g* and got my own PC which wasn't able to run petz 2-4.
I tried several ways to fix this issue, including trying the patches provided by UbiSoft... (don't want to increase this posts size, but that story ended up giving me headaches and made me incredible angry. If anyone's interested in it, just ask.)
Now I got Catz 5 (still looking for dogz5) since a week or two now and it runs fine.
I already downloaded alooooot of breedz and toyz (if anyone of you here created them/hosts them like minibyte does... THANK YOU. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR WORK!) which make the game even more better.
Geez, some of you guys are real geniuses. So many awesome breedz like Lepitaurs, Smilodons, Bengals, Bastets and so on. When I was a kid I never thought such things could be even possible with the Petz games!
I'm also interested in creating breedz and toyz myself, yet I don't know where to start.
Also, I'm trying to continue the plans I had back then in petz 3+4, breeding a new race looking like a Siamese with a black coat and white paws/ears/tail tip with a puffy tail, resembling those of Maine Coons. (almost finished that project back then, but it seems like I lost my disks with the .Pet data of this specific kind, which means I have to restard. :/ that was a time where there wasn't any sites about breedz downloads 'n stuff, at least I wasn't aware of them.)
So, ummm... I don't know what else I should say here, so... yeah.
Looking forward talking to some other petz users via this forum!
- Cheers, Janine
