Hi, I'm new and I've just tried posing for the first time today. Would be really grateful for some critique on my attempts. Thanks everyone!

What a great start Em ^^ I'll start with the first dog (Blue merle) - His feet and legs aren't lined up, he's facing too far away from the camera. Notice that pixelly bit from his back front foot, it's showing too much. The second dog is brilliant! The dog has correct allingment, however his face isn't centred. His chest is puffed out nicely and his tail is nicely curved. Compare your poses to my dali: See her face is nicely centred compared to your doggies? The second pose is much nicer! Work on centering the face and linage. Post after you've tried again ^^

I'm not really familiar with that type of tail, but my first thought would be that it could be even more curved towards the body in that second pose as well...though someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Here's another example pose, just in case=). I thought it could be of some use, since my Dithan also has a poofy tail and all^^.

Thanks for your comments! I'm finding it really hard to centre the faces, but apart from that my dogs seem to finally have worked out how to align their legs. Your dali is beautiful, by the way. Love her blue eyes. How about these?

Aww thank you about the compliments, Cadpig said thanks also =P Getting a lot better but the allingment is still 'off' A trick is to look at the feet and see if they are straight. The first pic is the best allignment, however this time too close to the camera. Can you see mine and Sheba's dogs front legs and how the front leg "covers" the back so it looks like they are pointing their foot forwards. If they are in the right linage they should automatically centre the face, keep trying though great start =D

Thanks to both of you. I'll try once more and then I'll stop bothering you! I like the face on the second one more, but not so sure about the legs. What do you think?

The first one is your best so far. ^_^ The second one is off in the legs though. For the first one, you just need to work on your picture timing to get that smooth, centered face. I like to drop my dalis into alignment, then hold the space bar to continuously take pictures. Petz will go through several reactions when you take pictures. If my pet doesn't give me a show pose, a double click the hand right in front of their nose, then go back to holding the space bar. If they do pose, I try to let off the space bar right as their chest is at its fullest (for dalis). You just have to be quick to catch them right when their face is centered.
It takes a lot of practice. Just keep aiming for the examples above and you'll get there.
