I've written... something? lol. I don't know if can actually help anyone, but it exists now! Sorry it's not a step by step guide, because I'm not sure how I would even write that when that's so dependent on what I'm breeding for and how the project itself is going. I guess someday I could video record an attempt to make a selective breed so people could see how I do it? For me, if things go smoothly, it usually only takes a few hours to get something breeding true. Any time beyond that is usually perfecting things like color and markings. I guess I could livestream it on youtube lol.

Your tutorial makes me want to tinker with it again. I felt like I was spinning my wheels at the time. Maybe between your tutorial and the program I can finish it this time. I'm going to save your article to my hard drive for reference. :-) That way I won't eat your bandwith going back and forth.

Does anyone else ever dream of animals they've never met in real life? Animals that are unique enough that they wouldn't be your first thoughts, or even animals with actual names to go with them? I do, and I always have to hex them or have them hexed as soon as I wake up, so they don't disappear forever. Last night, I dreamed that these two dogs came literally to our doorstep as we were trying to step outside. There was this big black Akita with only a little white on his face, and I recall at least one blue eye. And there was his female partner, who literally looked like a shortie version of an Akita (IT WAS SOO CUTE OH MY GOODNESS!!) with the typical white traits, but a dusty, almost brindled coat. No idea of the eye color so I just played with it. xD In the dream, I somehow knew them as the neighbor's dogs who got out again, and I had my sister help me take them home. She leashed the big dog, who was friendly and happy to go for a walk, while I had to pick up his more timid friend, and she went tense as I picked her up, but she was long and fluffy, similar to how I imagine picking up a ragdoll cat. x'DDD Oh I loved her!! We took them home, and not only did I get their names at the end, there was a random discussion my sister and I had on the way home again about their names, and how they sounded like they were Disney themed...so the names absolutely stuck in my head after waking up. Their names were Meg and Arlo. (I took some creative liberty with the spellings, since I had both those names already) And I was saying how they sounded like names taken from Hercules and The Good Dinosaur. xD RANDOM. AS. HECK. Where do our brains get these things from?! Anyway...since it's okay to hex-paint sexpotlida 's files, I couldn't resist making these two off of her beautiful Akita file. <3 This is pretty much exactly as I remember them, though looking at them side by side, they look too close in size, where Meg was smaller...but oh well. They're even friends!! <3 It really feels almost magical somehow to get all that information randomly in my head, and make them come alive like this. And this way, they'll never be forgotten. <3

But he ended up becoming a big dragon and saving the day in the end. (I was semi-lucid by that time, so I kinda influenced the outcome. XD ) I might make a written story out of this dream sometime.
Also, I have dreams that include my IRL dog quite often...and sometimes my previous IRL dog is alive again in the dreams too. I see my previous dog less often anymore, but she used to be in my dreams all the time before I got my current dog, but sometimes she still shows up.

(I was semi-lucid by that time, so I kinda influenced the outcome. XD ) I might make a written story out of this dream sometime. Even that would be a cool hex!! Something maybe outside my ability as of now...but some sort of little salamander that grows into a dragon? That would be awesome! (...Hey, sounds kind of like Charmander evolving into Charizard!! xD) I love that it had some sort of backstory, and such a neat ending to the dream! I always wanted to be able to lucid dream, but any info I found on it sounded too complicated. xD That's pretty cool though!
And I dream of passed on pets a lot...weirdly, one or two pets show up more than the others, and it almost feels random. But I feel like...the dreams where I see them, and go "Oh my gosh, he's back to visit us from Heaven!!" are actual visits. <3 Because not every dream I see passed pets do I think these things. But when I do, the pet comes over and is equally excited to see me. Those dreams are so precious and make me teary-eyed to think about. Because in those dreams...I'm fully aware what's happening. That this is a dream, that this pet is gone, that this moment is temporary...that they are -actually- there to say hello.
Those are easily the most beautiful dreams I've ever had. I miss my passed on babies. <3

Tor and Jingle's new puppy. I'm presuming that head has something to do with either the Bearyena or the Thylacine? Also, he is (or was, now I've aged him up) absolutely titchy. I tried to get a picture of all three petz together for comparison but didn't manage it. However, when I moved the baby, mum got cross - as they do. She then went and lay down for him to nurse, and commenced the angriest licking I have ever seen

I started with a 1st gen Siamese and 1st gen Desert Lynx. Normally I start with high gen petz, but I wanted to try something new. That said, once I got some parts down, I did mix it with my pre existing selective breed to try to give more color variation. This was created in petz 4, using a converted P5 breedfile. They have Siamese personalities, so sadly, posing them isn't easy. But I really wanted a Siamese head so I'm pretty happy regardless. I had hoped to keep Desert Lynx ears, but sadly, sometimes you just have to let the breed do what it wants. Now I have to figure out a name for the breed, lol. I'm awful at naming things, so that's the hardest part of Selective Breeding for me.

Thank you! I really like the name Monochrome Bobs.
I've made another Selective Breed today, lol. Two, actually. Both have Scottish Fold ears and I carefully selected for them to be very very small, using the Chinchilla Persian. They were made in Petz 4 with a converted version of the Scottish Fold.

I bred a bunch of adoptions for my forum, The Petz Backyard, and in doing so, I produced a few keepers! I used a Munchkin OW to make my Cottontail Cat selective breed a Munchkin and I think they look adorable! And I got new color mutations in two of my selective breeds. Some lovely surprises and I think I made some good adoptions too.
