I've been breeding scotties, and I've gotten some really gorgeous dogs, but I keep coming across these massive, awful bug-eyed dogs because their irises are enlarged. Some look better than others depending on eyelids and the rest of their shape.
Is it some breeds that make these big iris sizes pass down? I've been breeding with the sheepie file, and I've gotten some good coloration, both bobtail and sheepie-eared dogs but then they have these awful, massive eyes & sometimes a sheepie size. x____x
Anyone else get really fustrated with this while breeding, too? haha. I've spent at least 7 hours breeding already and I've gotten SO close that it's just starting to be a tease because I'm dangling right above what I'm trying to get all the time. lol.
edit ~
And sometimes they don't look that bad, they're just.. Bigger than normal for the regular breed?

I'm not too sure if there are only some breeds that pass it down but in my experiences when I was trying to create a selective breed between the great dane and the labrador I usually came across two or three bug eyed dogz in each generation (usually breeding over 30 dogz). It's was really unfortunate sometimes since the dog had all the features I wanted except for those eyes. xD Good luck though.
