Okay, so this is a serious legitimate question..
Do you get really attached to your petz? Why do you think we get so attached to petz? After all.. arn't they just masses of pixels?
Not to be a total sap, but I was looking through the few parts that are done on my crew site and my photobucket and totally freaking out over missing my pets.... and I just keep wondering ... why? Why am I so attached to these bundles of joy that I can't actually touch or feel? .. Does that seem odd? aha. Because... I seriously miss them. ;-;

I get attached.
I was also looking at my old petz on photobucket and I saw two of my old Siamese's Cairo and Zazu and I got really sad thinking about them cause at the time they were my favorite petz and I really miss them.I don't know why I miss them to me they were just fun. I always make stories up in my heads about them.
Cairo was a street cat from Egypt. And after I made that story up I thought well know that I "know" his background I feel sympathy for this "street cat".
Or maybe just the joy of seeing these Pixels do things that make me laugh and just their unique personality's made me love them.

^ Awwee, do you not have them anymore, or do you just miss playing with them? but that's cute; a street cat from Egypt :3

I definitely get attached sometimes, but I'm sad to say not to ~every pet. Some of my petz I think just.. look pretty and are fun to goof around with! But then I have other petz that I could never, ever live without. c: I dunno. I think we get attached because they have personality lol.

^ Yeah, I'm not completely attached to /all/ of my petz. But the majority of the ones I don't click with I've ended up MPAing. But I do remember I had those greedy few that I kept for breeding purposes mostly - I like to have a variety of bred petz I guess? lol.
I have some that I accumulated over what feels like quite a few years, so it's hard to look through my photobucket / etc knowing that I might not be able to get them back. >_<
I think some of it might be 'memories', kinda? Maybe the show off thread you had, and how happy you made some one by spoiling something they took so much time to breed & hex.. or that b-day present you were surprised with that you didn't expect (I've actually never had a real B-day party with friends because it's so close to Christmas and everyone usually seems to be busy or away.. lol.) .. or maybe the petz that you hang onto because you got them from a person you became close with, but arn't around in the PC anymore.
I know that I get more attached to the petz that breed naturally because they're just so cute, and it's fun to keep track of family trees as they go down the line. xD

Cairo I got from a site that was dedicated in Siamese catz. Zazu was a cat I bred but I lost them and many others in a computer crash

I do get attached, but only to some petz. For me I think part of it is because I spend a lot of time and effort into breeding non-inbred and all-natural petz from scratch, and I wouldn't be able to do that if I didn't get somewhat attached or care about the end result, if that makes sense...

I think the obvious reason that we get so attached to our petz is because we can interact with them, and they respond to our interactions with them. I've gotten pretty attached to some of my petz, but in the end I always remember they're just pixels and can easily get rid of them, like when I deleted all my persians a while back when I decided I was done with petz. I mean, I miss them and all, but they're just little pixels made to look like kitties. :3
