This is a humorous question: Is it necessary to give your Petz water? After I feed them, I would always offer them a bowl of water, but they end up just carrying it around and play with it as if it was some sort of toy. ._. For my catz, I even turned on the kitchen sink just to let them drink from there (this is from one of the guides I found via Google), but they only played with the water with their paws.. So is it really necessary to give them water?

No, I don't think it is. Sometimes after my pets have played for a long time and I offer a bowl of water, they will drink and then I feed them after, but if you do that the other way around then they seem to be too full to drink.

Nope. Petz usually don't drink unless they are hungry....weird, I know, but true. Besides, with Petza you can just turn the brainsliders up to 100 and you don't even need to feed them anymore.
But no, It's perfectly fine if your petz ignore water. As long as they are fed, they're happy.

There is no "thirst" stat on petz...xP I think there should be though. I think the only way to get petz to drink is to set their fullness to 3 or something. I also hear they will drink if your petz get lots of exercise, like playing with your pet for hours. but idk. xD

If they are hungry they usually drink the water...otherwise I don't think they do!

Batspam - Meh, I don't like using PetzA. XD I only use it to set the number of children my Petz would have or maybe reverse their age, but that's all. But anyway, thanks for the info, guys. :3

I just leave bowls of water out for them and after a bit of exercise (usually not hours) they will choose to go get a drink. Usually once they start panting and such.

I've rarely seen mine drink water. I tend to pull out the ones that get along, throw an auto bawl or something down, and leave them to it while I do other things. They can't breed with each other so I don't mind leaving petz open and running while I'm doing chores and what-not. Makes them rather friendly with me and others, they get happy and always running up to lick the hand icon. So cute. But I think I've only seen one of mine drink water. It seems to be a fairly pointless item though.
Then again if you don't use PetzA and you have a pet that has ate way too much I suppose it could be used as a 'liquid diet' type thing. Not sure if it effects weight at all..
