Do you think there's a "science" behind breeding petz? Do you have any tips and tricks that you'd like to share with the community? Post them here!
As for me, I've got nothing to share. xD I know I could definitely use some advice on tips on breeding really neat petz.

I am also working on a inbred free project, that I started more than a year ago lol, for the perfect pet. If you want nice colors fast, unfortunately you will have to inbreed. What I've been doing is breeding millions of catz together until I get a nice coat color or eye color and then breeding them to each other until I feel like they will pass down each time. Then I focus on trying to get them to have the exact body shape I want. :3
For other breedings, if I'm going for a certain look, I'll breed parents that look the same. If I want green eyes, I'll breed petz together that both have green eyes. What I learned maybe a year or so back is that eyelids that aren't black or selfie, are usually a no no. So to prevent breeding petz with wacky eyelids, I avoid adopting other petz with them. If I am madly in love with a pet with ugly lids though, I will ask if I can hex them to black, then I keep it in mind that they may produce babies with mismatched eyelids. I still breed them, but it takes longer because I don't want to offer anyone petz without black or selfie eyelids. x3 Then there's the whole trial and error thing. I sometimes will breed my petz in odd couples just to see the results. If they give me cute babies, I keep them in mind when breeding in the future. :D Oh and there's also other things to keep in mind when you're breeding for others. Usually the public wants selfie or black eyelids yes, nice eye colors yes, they also care about coat colors and body shapes. For example, I find that people generally don't like any dogz other than Dalis to have a Dali body. (With the exception of Chis since their bodies are similar.) Usually they are turned off by a dog having a random brown ear, if nothing else is brown on their body. Also keep in mind that patches and poof tails are usually everyone's favorite heh. Oh also, catz can sometimes have different colored muzzles than the rest of their bodies, like the brown ear thing, and if it doesn't match then someone might not want to adopt it.
Hope I helped in some way lol.

I'm so happy you replied - I LOVE the petz you breed. <3
Your advice is incredibly helpful! I have a number of neat petz, but they're usually the "freaks" of the litter (for a lack of a better term) and never breed true to their characteristics. I do it completely backwards from you too, so I'll take your advice and see if I can't start getting pretty babies that also pop out pretty babies. haha
I also didn't know about people disliking a brown ear, as I have a couple of petz like that and I absolutely adore them aesthetically. Must be in the minority. xD It's great to know though, as I'd like to start breeding petz for people in the future. <3
Thank you kindly for taking the time to reply, Cheaco.

I don't know, personally, I like random brown ears and different colored muzzles. What people like in petz is so varied. I know sometimes when I breed pets for adoption, I'll think certain pets are going to be the first adopted, but I'm often surprised. It really just depends on what people like, and different people like different things. Some people like poodle personality, others hate it. Some people like chi ears on danes, others don't. A lot of people like big poofy sheepie feet, I typically don't personally. A lot of people don't like teal colored eyes, I often do. There are so many different tastes. You'll also notice that there seems to be fads or waves of adoptions. One month it might be tall bulldogs, next month it'll be dachis with sheephie tails or something. It changes with time. Tamsins and fetish danes tend to always be popular though. What I usually do is just breed a little of everything. I try to get a good variety to breeds and colors, and just pets that look good. If you breed a good variety, there'll be something for everyone.

I'm glad that you started this thread as it's interesting to see how people go about breeding. ^ I agree with the above post. I tend to like a lot of things that some people hate which I guess makes it awkward to know what to breed for people but I just pick out what I like and stick those up as someone is bound to like the same.. probably. Just because one person says they don't like dark eyes for example doesn't mean that everyone hates them. On the right pet dark eyes look gorgeous IMO (selfie eyelids work better than black in this case) and I love teal coloured eyes too. I think eyelids are the main thing I would watch out for as "standard". Also I think some people like to know that petz have an established line and are more likely to breed true where as clueless breeders likes me just like interesting looking petz for their crew with the possibility of maybe breeding them and seeing what comes out.
