A few minutes ago I decided that I wanted to try to breed white dalmatians. I adopted the first two, bred them, and their puppy was brown with normal black spots. Where did he get that from?
The pup couldn't possibly be inbred, and for the hundreds of times that I've bred dalmatian puppies I've never had a cookie colored one.

Petz genes can mutate, so in this case the white mutated to brown. It isn't the inbreeding that does it; it's the mutation, which is random. Eye colors can mutate, too, which is how we get pretty green/pink/blue etc even if they aren't available in 1st generation petz.
That's how lines of purebred, non-inbred dalis can look different from the dalis right out of the adoption center. ^^

Persistence and/or luck = gene mutations and breeding beautiful petz! : D For example, the following Dalis are all non-inbred, and look at the variation! I bred all of them except the red one. Spot-lacking, different eyes, different coats, different eyelids... I love the challenge tbh haha (although I think the second one might have hexed lineage, I'm not sure). The only thing that doesn't change is spot colour, unless you breed with an overwriting file that makes them change. Essentially, it's fun and you shouldn't worry haha c:

It's the beautiful thing about PF Magic, you never really know for sure what your going to end up with. Some of my most beautiful dogs I bred from white on white parents on purpose to force color Mutating (which in my experience works great)

This reminds me of way back when, at age 7, I bred my two 1st generation great danes and got white puppies. :p I was so happy/freaked out/etc.
Yeah, mutations are pretty much random & can happen at any time.

Thank you all! I'm really happy to know that he isn't some monster thing. In fact, I was so excited that my good friend and I started trying to breed white great danes to get random color combinations. :)
