Hallo,
I feel about ready to have my first breeding try. But I don't know much about it at all. Genetics and how they can be used in Petz is still a secret to me. What I plan to discover sometime soon. I like Chihuahuas, so I thought I would have a try with those. Or with Chihuahua mixies so to speak. But their whiskers are bugging me. So I got an odd question:
Is it possible to breed out their whiskers? Or is hexing the only way to get rid of them?
Maybe someone nice can help. :-) Thanks for reading. :-)

I'm not sure about breeding chihuahuah's much, but I do know this- Edit the Chihuahuah file in PW and delete the whiskers. Save it. So when you breed, the Whiskers will not show up, because they are not on the Main Chihuahuah file.

When you mix them you could get rid of whiskers later on. They won't be pure but, if you'd like I could try a litter of chi mixies (they'll nonchi colored markings and tails but it could help with breeding stock) :3

Hmm, as far as I know does a hexed pet not breed true. I think when I get the whiskers out of the breedfile itself I can breed without thinking about whiskers because I got the OW (?) breedfile. But the pets I get are hexed pets, even the ones I breed with that file in are. Would this not mean that when I adopt out a Chihuahua I bred (with no whiskers) to another person and that person breeds that Chihuahua to another dog with the original Chihuahua breedfile in that the baby would get whiskers again? Even though my adopted out Chihuahua does not have them? Because hexed pets don't breed true?
I hope I got that right?
Herdrix, that would be so cool :-) Thank you! I'm up to anything Chihuahua like. I love Chihuahua mixies too, without whiskers anything is fine. I got a last question though:
Pure Chihuahuas can't be bred without having whiskers?
I heard you can breed calico spots out by just using original calicos. I thought maybe you could do the same with the Chihuahua whiskers. ?

Yes, I think you're right there. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I *think* OW files don't breed true unless the person you adopt the pet out to also has the OW file in.
& no, purebred Chis can't be bred without having whiskers. Think of it this way: if you were breeding a line of purebred catz, they wouldn't up and lose their whiskers somewhere along the line, would they? If you bred them to a cat without whiskers they might (not that any catz don't have whiskers, but just hypothetically xD) but not on their own.
It's the same thing with chihuahuas. If you bred one to a dog that doesn't have whiskers, though, it's possible its offspring wouldn't have them.
It's the same thing in this case. Sorry if that didn't make any sense; I can clarify if you want. =P Also, I hadn't heard that about calicos, so I don't know anything about that, sorry.

Yes. If you hexed the whiskers off the file and you bred whisker-less chis from the file then adopted out your puppies without that OW breedfile in other peoples game the whiskers would indeed return.
Calico's can become spotless and still remain pure because of paintballs, in the calico breedfile there are different variations and in these variations there are different spots/placements, if you breed the calico's with 2 different spot variations the kitten can be born without either of the variation. As for Chis, there is no variation for whiskers and all the variations in the chi have whiskers so you can get rid of it on pure chis coz both parents hold the code for whiskers.
If you mix breed chi's eventually you can get a chi looking dog without the whiskers, but it will take time.

Thank you both for explaining it like this. I understood. :-)
So no original breed touching for me when I try to breed stuff people maybe want to breed with too. I got that part actually right, woozah! :-)
And back to the original problem. Mmmh, seems I only got two ways. Way one would be to learn to live with those stupid whiskers on a dog and to start breeding Chihuahuas. This will never happen, I hate those whiskers. Way two would be to take a Chi and another dog breed to produce Chi mixed puppies. With lots of time (I got that right? lol) and a mass of luck I will end up with Chi look puppies without whiskers.
Why on earth do I like Chihuahuas?
Creating things from scratch seems to be so much easier, lol.
I have to think about it. But if, if, I end up saying yes to starting a Chi mixed breeding, which breed would be the best to mix it with? Is there any breed that is Chi and Whisker friendly? I just hope it is not the Poodle.
I need a Grapefruit, oi.
