Hi, all. I've read the forum rules and additional postings that apply to adoptions, and I was wondering if it's permissible to allow more than one person to adopt the same pet? I saw where we are to only offer them here, and to mark through them once they're gone - but I don't personally mind if more than one person likes an animal and would like to have it...so is it alright to offer them by date? For example...if I posted an adoption posting, could I state that they are all available to anyone that wants them until a specific date? Or is this not allowed?
Thanks for your time.

I don't know if this is allowed, as adoptions are supposed to go as one particular pet per person. A lot of people don't prefer that they share the same pet as someone else, anyway. I might be wrong.
Good luck. x <3 & welcome!

In my opinion, no. A lot of folks in the Petz Community (including just about everyone here, I imagine) value the uniqueness of a pet and become very personally attached to their petz. You'll notice that in threads where someone asks for a pet that has already been adopted the person offering the petz will say, "Sorry, he's taken." We don't feel that petz are just pixels, they have unique personalities and appearances, and that's something we'd like to keep that way.
If you wanted to offer downloadable petz on, say, your website, that would be fine. While there are no rules that I'm aware of for RKC banning multiple adopter petz, you would need to make it extremely clear to whoever was adopting that someone else was entitled to ask for, and receive the same pet.

Plus some players, like me, also show our pets on the PKC and VPA and we can only register a pet if we are the only one with a copy.

I would not really enjoy the idea if someone had the exact same pet as me. But, I guess it is preference?

If you do decide to do it, I would just make them downloadable on a website where people KNOW 100% that the pet they are downloading is public and available. This is the reason I don't participate in public Advent Calenders that offer petz.
I would not do it on a forum where you would have to state and make it absolutely clear to everybody involved that their pet is NOT unique and somebody might still be mistaken & get angry at it.
