Hi. I'm new here and I would like to share my problem in Petz 5 here. I've already asked the same question in other sites, and I hope I can get my answer asap. I just got my Petz 5 a week ago and the oddest thing happened. I noticed my catz and dogz aren't aging! When I checked their profiles, most are already adolescent or adults, but their still have appearances of kittenz and puppiez! I was flustered, because I wanted to be a breeder for this game. I brought out a male and a female cat just to test it out if I can still get some breeding going on. They were flirting with each other for hours, but no heart appeared and no pregnant cat either. I'm running this game on a Windows Vista by the way. Can anybody think of something? >:

If you aren't looking to do this the oldschool way, there is a program called PetzA that allows you to raise petz ages and mate them without having to go through every step.
Have you been opening the game every day? Petz don't age if the game hasn't been open.

Yes, I opened it everyday. Just tried PetzA right away after I saw your message. Tried breeding two of my 'adult' catz and it worked! I feel kind of bad though - I'd like to breed them the old, traditional way (perfumes, luv treatz and all that corny romantic stuff). Also, I really wanted to watch my petz grow to their mature forms - it's nostalgic. ;w; But this is all I got for now.. This is going to be weird - watch a tiny kitten waddle around the screen with a swollen belly.. Thanks for telling me about PetzA though.

Yeah, I understand. People tend to appreciate petz who are raised and conceived naturally as well.
Your problem is very strange, though. Their brainsliders are at 100?

This is a common problem when you use profiles, so I would advise you not to and just to seperate them in folders seperately in your Documents and just take and put petz into the game when you want to play with them.

Huh. I've never run into this one. Is it an issue with just Petz 5, or have you seen it in P4? I would recommend you reinstall Petz 5 into My Documents or somewhere other than the default location as outlined in the Vista/7 guide in this section; it will solve a number of issues in the long run, and may solve this as well.

I don't use profiles, but I've heard about these issues from other people whose petz don't age when they have profiles. I'm going to assume it's primarily Petz 5, but since I don't use profiles, I can't say for sure.

I use profiles on P4, Windows 7, and have never had the problem.

Yeah, I use P4 and never had that issue with 7 or Vista. I'm trying to remember now if it was an issue when I had Vista and P5, but that was a while ago. Eclair, let us know if reinstalling Petz 5 into the My Documents folder fixes it for you; if not, please post in the Vista/7 thread so I can help you out.

Are you running the game on Windows Service Pack 2?

Excuse me - Profiles? Sorry, but I think we might be talking about different things.
I check my petz profiles through clicking the pink/blue cat/dog icon near their name.
Is this the same thing you guys are talking about? Or is it the PetzA profiles that I never touched?

They're talking about Petza profiles Instead of having folders, you can put your petz in profiles and when your game turns on, you can select which profile of petz you want to play with instead of copying and pasting your petz in folders. I've already had issues with profiles though. When you have different profiles, it'll only age the ones you close out of last.

I wonder what the problem is, if you don't use profiles? :c
Hmm, are you running the game from My Documents? As an administrator? On Service Pack 2?

I don't use profiles, but I've heard about these issues from other people whose petz don't age when they have profiles. Isn't that a design feature of PetzA though so the profiles you aren't playing with don't age or gain neglect every time you open the game? Or are we talking about an aging problem with currently played with profiles? Back to the original question is your computer clock/date set correctly? Maybe you could try the same technique as a stuck pregnancy and set the clock forward a day and then run the game and see if they've aged at all. Do that a couple of times to see if it unsticks them. The other idea you could try as you have PetzA installed is bring one of the pets out click PetzA>Pets> name of your pet>Brainsliders, note their current age then slide it all the way up to 100 and then back down to the number they should be and see if that unsticks them. Worth a try anyway.

I'm pretty sure my laptop's dates and clock is set as accurately as possible. I've tried that technique already, advancing a date, before they got pregnant but nothing happened. But when I used the brain sliders, I almost got knocked off my chair as I watched one of my dogz miracously grow Wow! It worked! Thank you so much, catbaloo! Oh and by the way.. My Russian Blue just gave birth to a little kitten <3 The 2nd gen! I'm twice as happy! <3
