I was just wondering what body type a shorty have. I'm trying to breed some shorties and I thought it was Dachshunds but it looks smaller than normal. Should it be a scottie body instead?
Thanks!

When I bred shorties, I bred danes with dachs. The first couple generations had the smaller bodies, but eventually that was bred out and what was left was dane bodies with dach legs.

I always prefer scotties to dachies, but that's just a personal thing.

It's any type of short-legged/small bodied dog, usually with a larger breed's head and features.
ie: shortie danes have dane heads, but daschie/scottie bodies. The only shorties people tend to avoid have chi/bullie bodies, but it's all down to personal preference.
