Well, Ericka asked me if I could help train her dog, Zygote, to heel click in Petz 5. I agreed to help, but all I get him doing is beg, walk, hop, and jump! Does anyone know if Petz 5 has a different approach to trick training? Has anybody had a pet do a trick other then these tricks for the up motion? [Zygote owned by Ericka, hexed by Lox @ AK.] Thanks! P.S. Does it even matter in Petz 5 whether you motion for a an up, down, left or right trick? It doesn't seem to make a difference!

It may take hours to get them to throw a particular trick, but I use Spider's guide as a reference: www.tiwolf.net/PCG/viewtopic.php?t=24741&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=tricksterMake sure you're not using the same treatz and do NOT drop the treat if they do a trick you don't like. Spider trained her pet to do almost all of the tricks shown there (I saw almost because they can't actually learn all of them even with all of the different treatz) so it is possible to teach them to heel click but it will take A LOT of patience.

Hmm. Yeah, I've trained all my petz in P4 to do loads of tricks but in P5 it's all very different. :/

It's basically the same idea though. All of the tricks are there, and she's toyed with P5 (which is how she found out that if you move P4 petz to P5, they either can't learn tricks or forget all tricks).
But essentially, you just need a lot of patience. They should eventually throw a new trick as long as they haven't been trained earlier that a certain treat means a certain trick. If the dog was trained earlier by Ericka, you will have more issues with teaching them.
I think the untrainable dogs only apply if the dog was imported into the game. So that shouldn't be the issue.
Those four tricks you mentioned are the very basic tricks, you just need to keep trying over and over until they start throwing different tricks.
