I do believe that if you get petza you can trim family trees. I not completely sure though. Sorry if I didnt help to much.

Like blindbandit said, you can bring a pet out and click "trim family tree" in the petzA menu.

You download PetzA from here, install it, and then bring out the petz you want to trim the trees of, go to PetzA (at the top) > Pets > [name of pet] > Trim family tree, and voila! Smaller petz files.

Try taking all your other petz out of the Adopted Petz folder for now, so that this dog is the only one in the game... That might work?

Go into your adopted petz folder and remove all .pet files to your desktop temporarily. Then re-open your game while holding the ctrl+shift keys and reset the registry. Then add the one big .pet file back into the game and trim the tree. *hope this helps* *edits* Ooops. Close the game between resetting the registry and putting the pet back in, of course.
