I am going through my makeup and nail polish and getting rid of the stuff that was tested on animals. I have one thing of nail polish that is giving me a headache though. It is from the old store, Afterthoughts. (It was bought by Claire's and turned into Icing.) I can't find any info on if they tested on animals or not. It is driving me crazy. xD It's black nail polish, and I like black nail polish. I don't want to just throw it away. But I still feel guilty not knowing. If it was, I don't want it. xD If you guys could help me in any way that would be mega super awesome! <3
I also might be back with a few other brands I need help with.

I just did a thorough googling on this, and couldn't find anything. :/ I'd just throw it, just use other nail polish you know is not tested on animals. *shrug*

I looked it up and I traced back to Venator Group Inc., which was the company that owned Afterthoughts and is now known as Foot Locker, which currently does not test on animals. I can't find anywhere where it says that they did test on animals. If you want to be safe, I would probably get rid of it and buy one you're sure isn't tested or made with tested ingredients. Though, Afterthoughts was taken over back in 1999 so if you have a nail polish that long and it's still nice, that is sort of amazing, haha.

I'm with Clover on this one. xD
But I get where you're coming from, and it's nice that you're at least making the attempt to do this.

Heh well actually I didn't buy it. I took it from my mom. xD I don't have much makeup or nail polish and a lot of it is old. I threw away the stuff that didn't have labels and one or two other items that actually were tested on animals. I only recently started getting into cosmetics and I don't want to invest in brands that aren't cruelty-free. It makes me feel guilty and hypocritical. (I am a vegetarian, for animal loving purposes.) So the first step I'm taking is to get rid of anything tested on animals from my possession. x3
I decided I am going to just get rid of it. When I get back to Hawaii and finally score a job, I'll be sure to purchase some new stuff. <3
Oh and just as a fun fact, the brand Lotta Luv doesn't test on animals. I asked them last night and they said no haha. I have some Bubble Yum lip gloss from them and I am so glad I don't have to give it up. xD

You may want to make sure that they don't use products tested on animals though. Because they can say that they don't test on animals themselves, which is probably true, but ask about the ingredients and make sure that those aren't tested on animals. I learned this while looking stuff up for you, haha.
