Maybe download a brand new Dane file and see if that works?

god, a wall just hit me........I know what is wrong.
every single breed out there, yes even the original ones, have their own breedfile number. this code of numbers and letters is stored directly in the particular breedfile data and is only accessable by using either a good old hex editor or lnz pro. Yes I guess LNZ pro can do it....
when you hex things many bad things can happen, you can actually mess things up in the worst way and end up not knowing that you did at all. it happened once to me that I made a breed for my site, OW one. I normally do the not ow breeds first and use them to create the ow versions. For making an not ow breed you have to change the particular breefile number to something different not used yet AND give it a not used new breefile name. I did that, like I used to all the time.
I made the ow version of the file, put both files ow/not ow on my site.
about two days later people kept emailing me something is wrong with my ow version of file XYZ. that the game always says you need to put in the original GD file when you want to play with the pet. But the people told me that only happened when they took my hexed ow file out and the original gd file back in. In the cases they wanted not to breed with my ow but with the original gd file....
I was like: OH CRAP!
I had a look and was able to solve the problem.
The end of the story was that me idiot had forgotten to change the breedfile number of the OW file back to the one the GD originally comes with. And it seems you got the exact same problem here.
soultion a) change the breedfile number in the petfile itself to the one the original great dane file comes with. the pet file will work again fine. the original one.
solution b) put the original dane file in, adopt a pet of it, overwrite all LNZ data of the pet with the one of your not working pet. and you will get the pet working, but in that case it is only a clone.
and c)
contact the breedfile owner that there is a breedfile number problem with the OW, so he/she can change the breedfile number back to the one of the original GD

I think what Relo described is the problem that I had with a dog from PA. It kept asking me for my Great Dane file, which I had in the game but I never got a response back from the girl on PA so I just converted it to a first generation Great Dane and left it alone And I do apologize if I sounded rude/acted rude, I didn't mean it. It just felt like you weren't understanding that OW files aren't exactly external files and most don't act like how I described (or how Relo described above), but I can see why you would be annoyed that somebody submitted a pet that technically requires an external file.

It's ok Artemis, but I don't understand why I was smited.... I doubt it was you though, you were simply trying to help.. I got a little bit like that with Dragon over at PRU.. I do regret it, but hey. I'm a little bit at a loose end here... Cheaco kindly bred me two more amazing pets, and said that Lanty wasn't bred using any OWs... So I'll have another look at Relo's post. Thanks so much for the help!

Thanks Kalaia! :] Guys, seeing as Selena isn't going to do anything about this, and probably bubblewrap either, I'll have to contact Foxell.
