www.kapowpetz.webs.com^that's my little piece of the web. The layout & coding was done by Krazy Kitty.. but now I'm facing problems, lol. a.) how do I make the white box have a purple background? Can that be done, or will I just have to stick with white? b.) no matter how much I press enter, the text clumps together in one big paragraph. How do I add spaces like this? c.) Do I use photobucket to put pictures up, or is there another way? Thanks for any help, I'm a HTML 'tard! <3

a. the box has a purple background in my browser (firefox), so... idk what to say there. x3
b. to make spaces you're going to have to use the <BR> tag, just like that.
c. you can use photobucket for pictures (use the <img> tag) and you can also upload them to freewebs (what you have your site on, I think). whatever is easiest for you.

Ahh, ok. That solves two problems. But the box has a white background (the box itself, not the purple background) for me: I'm using IE.
So erm.. xDD How do I fix that?
& thanks guys <3

It's an IE thing. All you have to do is find out what hex code the purple color is, and then on all the pages that show up inside that box, you add something like: <body bgcolor="#000000"> ( replace 000000 with the correct color) near the top of all your html. The bummer is you have to do this for every page. Edit: My program says that the lighter purple color that makes up the box in your layout image is #6C2068, so try that and see if it looks okay.

^ thank you so much! It worked. 8) My site's now a lovely light purple colour <3
& <BR> works for me, but to get a bigger space, do I have to put more <BR> tags on every line, or no?
Sorry for being such a HTML 'tard. xDD

Sometimes I'll do <br><br><br> for a bigger space, or you can just use <p> which is usually about the same as 3 <br>'s. Or you can add them together to make an even bigger space, such as : <p><br><br>

Ahh. Thank you lots and lots Jewellz! You've been a big help <3 *exhalts* I now have other problems. >____> Everything else is fine, but my writing goes UNDER the images of my petz when it gets too far down. There's no scrollbar and I don't know if Krazy Kitty added one. How do I make sure my text doesn't go underneath the images? Thanks in advance. Edit: Okay, Bubz helped me fix the text-under-images problem.. but I still have the scrollbar prob. :c

<BR> is deprecated, I think (meaning it may not work in future versions of HTML). ;] It's good practice always to close your tags, anyways. So <BR />, <img src="url" />, etc..
Aaaand a note about using <p> for spacing; <p> actually denotes a new paragraph, so using it as a linebreak isn't technically correct and can cause problems with parsing. If you're going to use <p> it's best to remember to close it with the </p> tag after a paragraph, so that you don't have any open tags. ^^ As in:
<p> text!</p> <p> text!</p>
Plus if you use the tag that way, you can style each paragraph individually. ;]
Edit: Is overflow set to auto on the div or table containing your text? If not, setting it to that should fix your scrollbar problem. ^^

Okay~ I'll close my tags, lol. Thanks!
However.. erm.. the last sentence made my brain do a "WHAT?!?". Overflow set to auto on the div or table? o-o I'm sorry, you'll have to explain. xDD
