;D Just a weird early morning thought... I mean, if you didn't have indoor plumbing, you could still have an outhouse... so it's not like you'd have to poo in a hole in the ground. However, you'd have to bathe outdoors and whatnot.. even in the winter.
But without electricity, I don't think the modern human would know how to cope with boredom. I've been without it for a few hours during storms, and -that- almost drove me to tears!
So, just wondering...

Umm, I could live without either. I do it for weeks at a time anyhow, because i go live in the bush (ie. "camping" but long term during various times of the year). I'm content having to go to the washroom outside and bath outside and/or without proper plumbing. I am also fine without electricity because I have many other means of entertainment (drawing, writing, walking my dogs, sculpting, etc etc etc).
So either one, I dont much care.

I can just nip to Jon's for a shower, and ~excuse me~ in the woods XD

I hate outhouses so much. @__@ I used to have like ... two 90-year-old great uncles who built their own house from basically scratch, and when we used to visit them I'd have to go use their outhouse. Beyond awful.
Plus, it had a wasps nest in it. I'd much, much rather just pick a nice place near a bush to go. Screw privacy. XD
On the other hand, (under the right circumstances) I could go without electricity for a month if I had an unlimited supply of books to occupy my interest. Well, and if my fishes needs were a small exception. You know, the filter and heater and such.

Candlelight is always romantic (:
And I wouldn't ever want to pee outside... Sorry, I'm not an outdoorsy type of girl D:

This is not true. Just because one doesn't have indoor plumbing does not mean one has to bath outside. Before indoor plumbing, it was commonplace for people to have a bathtub or basin they filled by hand using boiled lake water, in which they bathed and washed up in. Therefore; No indoor plumbing still means you can wash up indoors... The only difference is, without indoor plumbing you have to haul several gallons of water from outside/nearest well and/or lake, before you could wash yourself up. So, lack of indoor plumbing isnt all that bad

This is interesting. lol. Actually, a year or so ago the water heater at our house went out, and we didn't have enough money at the time to replace it (cheapest one for the size we needed was $480). So we took boiled-water baths for almost a month. -Not- pleasant. I didn't realize just how much water one had to boil to even make a luke-warm bath 3 inches deep. I mean, as soon as we had dumped the pots of water in the tub, filled them up and re-boiled them, the water in the tub was cool again. >.< Argh. Frustration. Plus, we didn't have 3 hours to boil water for two baths, so we had to share the icky 3 inches of water. Luckily, he's enough of a gentleman to take seconds. Ick. lol. But I tell you what, the first shower I took after we got that new water heater was -awesome-. I'm still sticking with electricity, however. I <3 video games. I'm from Wisconsin, and apart from the winters, I'd totally do the outdoor bathing thing. But not in January in Wisconsin, with -40 temps.

I could live without light, but I'm not sure about no TV, Phone, Computer, ect.. Not only because I enjoy it, but I'd have no way of contacting my family as I don't live at home, I'm over 1,000 miles away from it xD
So I think I'd prefer electricity!
