MODS FEEL FREE TO MOVE IF THIS IS IN THE WRONG PLACE.
So, I have been drooling over these Mac computers at school, and my mom said she would get me one for my birthday. But, when I was talking to a friend, he said petz probably wouldn't work on a Mac.... =[
So, if I were to get one, should I get a Mac desktop or Laptop?
and secondly, does Petz work on a Mac?
The second question, I seriously need to know. I probably won't get one if I can't have my petz. =[
Thanks for any help! ^^

You can get software that allows games made for Windows to be played on a Mac computer, I had one for a long time and played petz on it using that software. Here's a link to where you can buy it and download a free trial, but there's a few different versions made by different companies, so you might want to check them all out. Parallels seems like the more popular one used now, and they're always coming up with new upgrades for it. Honestly it's been so long since I had a Mac, I forgot which one I used, but I'm sure you can find a better one since technology is always improving. www.parallels.com/landingpage/dskd10_4/?gclid=CJae3bzX3ZgCFSHaDAodfgJ5cQAnd, if your getting a Mac, I highly recommend getting a desktop versus a laptop. I could go into great detail about it, but you should just go here instead. They use a lot of fancy terms, haha, but you'll get the just of it. forums.macosxhints.com/archive/index.php/t-76201.htmlHope I could help.

Well, do the Mac Desktops HAVE to be $1,000 or more? =[ Cause, I don't think my mom wants to pay more than 700-800. TT_TT
and, would that software download onto the laptop?
EDIT:
Also, does Garageband work on a Mac Laptop? and is a Mac Laptop the same as an Ibook?

You an sometimes find good deals on them, but if you want to get a good one, yes they do cost that much. Mine was fairly expensive, around $1,500, and we had it shipped from Florida which was where we could find one like it cheapest. You can go on ebay possibly and find some, I have seen them up there for less than 1,000. The software should be compatible with the laptop as well, but just remember that it will eat up more space on the laptop, possibly causing it to run slow, and the games you use, to run slow as well. But that really depends on what kind of laptop you get, and what kind of Mac software comes with/you install on it. EDIT; Yes, you can use Garageband on a Mac Laptop. And yes, there's a Mac ibook, but there's different kinds with varied pricing. Either way, laptop or desktop, Mac's overall security and system is way better than Windows, and it's amazingly fast and easy to move and transfer files. It's just takes a little getting used to in the beginning, but that's what the help tutorial is for on it.

All mac laptops have GarageBand. At least all the ones that I know off. The only way to run Petz on the mac is to get Parallel Desktop and that could get pricey. If your looking for something around 700-800, then I'd go for a laptop, even though they aren't much cheaper than a desktop. Edit: Niciaaa ! beat me too it.

o.o DON'T GET A LAPTOP. GET THE DESKTOP. It's more powerful, better, and will be far more useful to you in the long run, especially if you decide to go into any sort of an art field. If you want a cheap, functional laptop, there's an HP brand with a touch screen you can get for 700-800 (my friend got it for 300) on eBay; HP COMPAQ 2710 I think. Or 2170. Also, moving to Help Desk as I think it's more about the computer now.

I do agree with Brynn, the desktop is overall better than the laptop. Yes, the mac laptop is convenient, but only if you do a lot of traveling or are using it for work purposes and your very mobile. I'm thinking the desktop will be more useful to you, not to mention it's faster and has way better display quality than the laptop. Desktop all the way.

Well, I'm not getting anything that will not allow petz. >.>
I would rather have a Desktop. But, the point of the laptop is because it's portable. But, how would the Desktop be more useful? -needs to convince teh mommy dearest-
Maybe if I'm reeeallly good, I can get a more expensive one.

If you go to the Mac website they'll tell you everything, like why you should get a Mac versus a Windows, and if your considering a Mac which ones have the best features and which one would be best for you considering what you'd use it for. www.apple.com/mac/

I have a macbook (laptop)
I got it on sale and it was about $1400 so I don't know where you can find one for like $700.
Garageband came installed on mine, so yes it works on them..
As for petz, I haven't found a way to get mine on my laptop, so I continue to have them on our home computer.
