There are people who keep dingos as pets; Dingos are essentially feral domestic canines (dogs) which have several generations behind them of feral genes. Also, the dingo - though considered by most as a feral dog, has earned its own species tag after enough generations of being feral, and is called the canis lupus dingo (original lol).
Also, The lupus should be omitted from the some of those names with the exception of wolf sub species. For Example, the Ethiopian Wolf is simply Canis simensis, the Jackal is Canis mesomelas, etc. The Canis Lupus is the "Wolf" and everything that begins with "Canis Lupis" are wolf subspecies. The domestic dog is scientifically referred to as a Wolf sub species so the proper name would be Canis Lupus Familiaris.
The proper term to use in the title would be, Canidae or Canid. Unless of course you just wanted to focus solely on the Genus Canis since Canidae also includes other Genus like Lycaon (African Wild Dog Genus), Pseudalopex (South American Grey Fox, Darwin's fox, etc), Chrysocyon (Maned Wolf), Vulpis (true foxes), Otocyon (Bat-Eared Fox), amongst others.
So I really don't know if you wanted to focus on the Canidae Family, or just the Genus Canis...
*end rambling*
My favourite Canidae species is the Domestic Dog (Canis Lupus Familiaris).
I do like some from the Genus Vulpis along with many others besides the Dog from the Genus Canis.

If you read the whole thing you quoted: Vulpis is in there. Only some foxes are classed in the Genis Vulpis however, because the others (for example, the ones under Genus Pseudalopex) are not "true foxes". The foxes under the genus Pseudalopex are usually listed under the name Lycalopex ________. True foxes include: Arctic Fox, Red Fox, Cape Fox, Fennec Fox, amongst others; All of which are classed under the Genus Vulpis (true foxes).
Just like a "Maned Wolf" is not in the Genus Canis (nor is a sub of the Canis Lupus like most wolves). This is because, the Maned wolf is not a "true wolf". The foxes are the same, some don't abide by all guidelines that class foxes into the Vulpis (true foxes) genus so they have their own genus (pseudalopex & otocyon for example).

DINGO!!!!! *squees* I love Dingoes (spelling?)! And African Wild Dogs are the bomb. I saw a Dingo Domestic dog hybrid. She looked like my dog with different colours xD But her son was a true Dingo so I don't think she was a hybrid...

I just can't help liking domesic dogs over all! I'm thinking of getting one (as I have since I was 7) I used to read adult books about dog care from aged 6 onwards.
