Well, I was in the middle of hexing this cat to avoid doing homework: when I noticed this black spot on her leg: I looked through paint ballz, addballz, and ball info about 12 times and I can't find that spot... Can anyone help me?

... He he he.. Umm, yeah. Long story short, I know from experience, there is somethign wrong in the paintballs section of the file. Go through it and comb it head to toe, every last number. I had thise with my aussies for a while because I had an unreal colour number in the paintballs. It sucks havingto comb thrugh those numbers with a fine tooth comb.. hopefully you wont have to look far....

I've been going through it for so many hours and I fixed a whole bunch of other problems and stuff but I haven't managed to find that black spot ANYWHERE Is there anything else that could possibly be causing the problem?

No no no.. The black spot is not in the paintballs. It appears once you put the pet away and take it back out. It is caused by either: a) Too many paintballs b) An error in some of the paintball info (like 11 instead of 1 in the texture thing) c) Error in the addballs information.
To fix this, either redo all the paintballs completely or sift through the info you have already for any error. Lots of times, it is extremely difficult to find. Remember, you are not looking for a 255 coloured paintball, just any random error in ANY spot of ANY colour.

Pretty catz Yes its a very annoying problem.. those black spots are caused by when the game encounters something that it can't read so since it can't understand it, it will just plop on a ugly large black spot.. The mistake can be as simple as forgetting to use a comma somewhere.. maybe run the file through LNZPro which can identify some errors..

That's a really good idea, Canni. I only use LNZ pro to edit .pet files so I didn't even think of that! lol How do I run an error check on it? Or does it just check on it's own?

Open the file.. then go to 'tools' ... 'check for errors' I'm not sure if it will find out whats wrong (if it happens to me I usually end up remaking my spots) but is worth a try

Hmmm mine doesn't have "tools" in the menu. I thought maybe it was because the version a have is old but I just downloaded it again and still, no tools.
I bred some calicos with my hexed file accidentally left in and one of the kittens turned out perfectly with no black spot while the other had a black spot. So I guess I'll just do a .pet to breedfile switch and then finish up hexing the file.
Thanks for your help, Genuine Kennels and Canni ^^
