HELP!!!

It's probably working correctly, but to get the catz in dogz 5, you now must go download some .cat files and put them in your /Resource/Cats/ folder It's probably complaining because it doesn't have any, if you followed all instructions correctly. Try downloading and installing the parrot correctly, and then it should show up in the Adoption Center just fine. No other catz breeds will, simply because you don't have them yet. So, obviously, it's an excuse to go on a downloading spree good luck!

Hey all, I downloaded the "catz in dogz5" thing from carolyn's creations, and I"M SO confused!! I thought it worked but it's asking me for files to play/adopt petz....SO PLEASE HELP ASAP!! I only want this catz thing to download the parrotz... David David, I've been trying to help you with this via email. But you don't give enough information to say what confuses you. When you wrote to me you didn't even say which version of the game you were using; I had to assume that it was Catz 5. I need to know why nothing I've said to you has helped you to understand my instructions, and so I'm writing in this forum thread in the hope that someone else will be able to figure out where my instructions are unhelpful. Please, someone, can you explain why I'm confusing David? I honestly want to know why some people are unable to understand what I say. Anyway, here's what I wrote to david at first: "From the Catz in Dogz page, you will need to download the "Basic Cat behaviours for Petz 4 and Petz 5 (4.8 megabytes)" file which will download as Catbehaviours_c4c5.zip, the "Small cut-down Catz Rez file for Petz 5" file which downloads as Rez_c5.zip, and the "Original Bunny for Petz 5". Unzip the Catbehaviours_c4c5.zip file into the root directory of your game -- where the Petz 5.exe is. Everything should then go into the right places. Then unzip the Rez_c5.zip into your game's Resource directory. Then make a directory off the Resource one and rename it Catz. Unzip the bunny into that directory and of course all your catz breedz will go in there." David then said: "Where is that Petz 5.exe files are??" At which point I really wondered whether he was joking. I said "The Petz 5.exe file is wherever you installed your Petz 5 game." I went on to suggest that if he needs help with finding things on his hard drives, he should ask in some forum which covers basic Windows usage. His reply to that was: "Well, I just don't know where to put the cat behavoirs, in the "Resource"?" He even clarified that to "Where do I put the behaviors (cat's)? What is the file place called?" Now, I swear to you that I cannot think of a clearer way to say it than I do in my statement shown above: "Unzip the Catbehaviours_c4c5.zip file into the root directory of your game -- where the Petz 5.exe is." If anyone can tell me where I'm going wrong here in explaining, you would do me a great kindness, and possibly help others like David with whom I cannot communicate. Cheers Carolyn Incidentally, there is a Dogz parrot, the Corvus Corvax one downloadable from Minibyte's Archive. No need to bother with the Catz one from Vickie if it's all too difficult!

Download files from Carolyn's site (Catbehaviours_c4c5.zip, Rez_c5.zip, "Original Bunny for Petz 5") Unzip Catbehaviours_c4c5.zip to: C:\Program Files\UBI Soft\Studio Mythos\Petz 5Unzip Rez_c5.zip to: C:\Program Files\UBI Soft\Studio Mythos\Petz 5\ResourceCreate a directory called: C:\Program Files\UBI Soft\Studio Mythos\Petz 5\Resource\CatzUnzip "Original Bunny for Petz 5" to: C:\Program Files\UBI Soft\Studio Mythos\Petz 5\Resource\CatzWhen you download any Catz breed, unzip it to: C:\Program Files\UBI Soft\Studio Mythos\Petz 5\Resource\CatzHope this helps Note: I think that's the default path. Correct me if I'm wrong though (I installed my game to Program Files\Petz 5)

Ah! *light dawns* Thank you, Puma Girl; so David was actually asking for the whole path to his game? I didn't think of that, largely because of course the game can be installed anywhere on any given machine, but of course most people are likely to just install wherever the game's installer suggests. I suppose if he's only got Dogz 5 installed, the path might be C:\Program Files\UBI Soft\Studio Mythos\Dogz 5 I really cannot remember now what the installer offered when I installed the games, I better check. But anyway, thanks so much Puma Girl, I'll try and make it clearer on my download pages by including the default install addresses. I guess anyone with the nous to have installed elsewhere will have the know-how to find where they put the Petz 5.exe file Cheers Carolyn
